Hi all, I'm sharing my experience of swapping seats, specifically in the pin layout of the underseat connectors.

My 2010 car has manual cloth sports seats with the electrically adjustable side bolsters, not heated.
I've bought some manual leather seats with the electrically adjustable side bolsters, with heating. I'm not fussed about getting the heated seats working just yet (long term aspiration), but I do want the side bolsters to work. I haven't physically swapped the seats yet, just doing some homework first.

My existing passenger underseat connector; not many occupied pins:


The new seats, with a lot of occupied pins:


In summary:

So from the above, pin 7 needs to be swapped to pin 9, which will then enable the side bolsters to function. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

So reading some of that thread it seems a swap from 7 - 9 is right but pin size won't be correct?

Small update - I did the seats today, and all went well - I needed to swap the seat belt stalks/pretensioners from my old seats to the new ones, which is straightforward enough. Despite being pre 2007 seats, they had the active headrest wiring installed, so no retrofitting required.
However, I noticed that the new seats already have a passenger seat occupation bypass device installed. I have a seat belt light until the passenger seat belt is clipped in, so I think those 2 things are related. Once the weather clears up I'm going to remove that device & reattach the seat occupation pad & see what happens. Either way I'll code it out.

Update - I had a look at the coding just now, and accessed the Airbag module (ABG).
Both of the oc3 parameters were sent to nicht_aktiv, namely OC3_1 and GK/OC3/POL but the passenger seat parameter SBR_BEIFAHRER_1 was set to aktiv. I changed this to nicht_aktiv, saved, and it came up with an airbag error (passenger seat occupancy mat implausible signal). I then unplugged the occupancy sensor emulator (bypass device) and cleared the codes. No more errors, and I won't get a seat belt light any more for the passenger, just the driver. Very happy!

pin 1 is the seat temp pin (from the jbbr).

pin7 does need to be powered for the bolsters, but I'd run a new wire to the seat plug and pin it correctly.

The larger pins are for the seat adjustment (power and gnd) and seat heating (power and gnd).

you may need to populate pins 2 and 3 with the can bus (h and l)for the memory function to work.
