nope. summer performance tires.
only all seasons are the 21" runflats.

Ok, thanks for confirming. Can you get all seasons for the 22” rims?

not unless you want to run the same size front and back (rears rims are wider, so it looks a little stretched. functionally its fine but you cant rotate front to back as the rear rims can rub the front suspension) 285/45/22 and 285/40/22 are options people have used for all seasons. no runflat options so the factory spare is needed.

The rear would fit on the front with a spacer. That would be the move. Get 4 rears if you want to run 285 square.

The take away is: The X7 needs 21” wheels for the smoothest ride and most versatile tire selection for any kind of use. That’s all any new owner/buyer needs to know before jumping into the X7.

Every other size bigger than 21” is a compromise or headache in working around limitations.

I really wish they would have had a few more wheels to choose from in 21" with all season tires (for the M60i). I bought the 22" wheels simply for the design and looks, thinking I could get all seasons for them. If I had to do it over again, I might have gone with the 21s... but man, I love the way the 22's look...

I did the same thing and worked a additional set of black 21” AS wheel/tires in on the initial deal. As much as I like the look of the 22”ers, they are a pia for mixed weather or cross country traveling. So far the 21”ers have shown to be the ultimate in smooth cross country road trips. The 22”ers are good riding and fun for limited summer use but the 21”ers are another level and makes the X7 the smoothest luxury vehicle I have ever driven over any kinds of road surfaces.

What happens with summer tires regardless of the size is the limited application they can be used regarding temperature.
Even if you aren’t in a snow area if you’re driving below 40° on summer tires you’re going against the manufacturers tire warranty. This is because the rubber compound they use gets very hard and slick below 40°.

BMW dealers selling summer performance tires on an SUV in cold weather climates should have a safety warning at the time of sales explaining the application of the tires. Too many new owners are getting blindsided by this tire limitations thinking the manufacture couldn’t possibly put the wrong tires on an SUV. It’s a huge oversight.

Strait from The Continental website:

I have a set of summer tires. Do I need to replace them with winter or all season tires if I live in an area that only receives light snow and ice?

Summer tires are designed for warm weather only use only. It is not advisable to use summer tires in temperatures below 45 degrees. Regardless of the weather conditions.

Do you know if the stock 21s are 9.5" front and back, or are they 10.5" wide in the back? And what tire size are you running on your 21s?

21s are a square setup, 9.5 all around.

It’s a square set up making tire rotations and longevity significantly better.

FYI, for my 2022 M50i X7, I swapped to the Pirelli Scorpion Winters (275/40R-22 fronts, 315/35R-22 rears). $3K from TireRack.

Decent traction in light to medium snow and ice but poor ride and handling, especially in cold but dry conditions.

So you wouldn’t recommend going with the 22’s in mixed conditions? I live in Omaha.
