Primo!! Few things are as relaxing as that type of view. I'm envious.

My parents used to live in the Penthouse level of a very exclusive condominium in Caracas, Venezuala, right around the time of the coup d'etat of 2002. They had small trees, a garden, a small pool and hot tub, windows all the way around, 6 bedrooms 4 baths...it was huge. I agree, I also love the view from highrises and the bonus of not having to do any yard work and stuff is tempting and attractive. One day I will not be able to enjoy watching a plant grow from a seed that I started, or maintain all my bird houses and hummer feeders. But for right now, I love waking up to the songs of Cardinals and Mockingbirds!
I can appreciate life both in the city, and in the country.

I also enjoy the fact that I don't have to worry about water and hydro. It's all included! Unfortunately, we tend to waste more electricity that way....but I try not to for the sake of the environment.

I do eventually want a house and a backyard, etc. when we have kids. They gotta be able to play out there and have BBQ's and stuff.

Oh absolutely! It makes for happy, well adjusted children. Taking them to the city to plays and when they're older and can appreciate them, museums, will create culturally diverse adults who can make their own decisions about what's right for them later.
Some of my greatest childhood memories were at my grandma's in the mountains with no heated water or phone. The water came from a hand pump and a creek. Damn it was cold! But I loved it...I miss those times...

In Chicago, Lake Michigan will get up to a less than bathwater temp of 71F. That will make any man, ummmm, less to consider.

btw, I have a few things growing from seeds.

I LOVE that pic, Tina. You look like a smiling little punkin' head in there. That pic definitely made me smile. Thanks!

God... I can't wait to see my own yard and garden after being left to it's own devices for six weeks. Yurk!

My mom is so hard to buy for, but this is probably the only gift she's ever really put to good use:
