Navigation on ix50 unrepairable so far

Hi,
2024 ix50 that has been in the shop for 10 days with a faulty navigation that shows the car in various other countries but never USA. Dealer so far, unable to rectify the problem. Some discussion about giving me a new one but nothing offered yet. This is a lease. I already had o have it taken away on a flatbed as it refused to take any gear and I was stranded.

Any thoughts from anyone in terms of what rights I might have if they can't fix it?

Research the lemon laws in your state, but 10 days is almost certainly too brief to take advantage of those remedies yet.

Definitely let the Service Manager know that you’ll be immediately enacting the Lemon Law in NY as soon as the criteria have been met to do so. This may light a fire under the local regional service rep’s butt to help expedite the solution.

Good luck!

Do a test call and see if BMW ASSIST can see the vehicle at the proper location

I had the same problem. They replaced the entire electronics module (hardware replacement).

If your car stranded you and needed a flatbed then this is much more than a simple navigation issue. My car was bricked for 24 hours and also had a navigation issue. It was all related to the Dynamic Stability Control module that threw a software error, requiring a patched version of the software to be re-flashed by the dealer. That fixed everything.

If you had a similar issue it would be evident to the dealer by looking at the vehicle's error logs.
