How do we even know this is an Alpina? There's no badge to indicate this? Wheels are wrong. Can't see the interior, not convinced.
Also, this may be the M60i that's rumored to have a V12. |

I'm talking about the challenges of differentiating the 145k version of a 110k suv from the 110 version. Land Rover somewhat pulls it off but not really, Benz does not, Bentley did it at the 200k+ price point (3x the Q7) I think Alpina fans will like it. I know I'll like it, personally. But if someone loves the M treatment and isn't really an Alpina guy this won't be too tempting unless you want to be 1 of 1 driving it in a 250 mile radius. Nevertheless it's nice to have both options and I like that BMW is going this route. Offer M visual version of some vehicles and an Alpina version, as well, as an alternative. I'd rather buy this than an MX7 |

Hope so. V12s are scarce, but at least BMW has the incentive to keep them around for RR.
IC may be dying a slow death, but V12s will likely have a few committed manufacturers for a while yet. Aston, BMW/RR, Benz, Ferrari, Lambo Last edited by ppagiga; 09-27-2019 at 11:59 AM.. |

Just saw an X7 M50i the other day on the road and it's a boat for sure. Not bad looking all in all but I personally think this and the 7 series grille look like buck teeth. And of course some old fart was driving the X7...

Well, to be fair, I don't forsee many 25 year-olds driving an X7, lol. Same story with 7-series.

Exactly. All these random comments from people not in the X7s target market are predictable. I wasnt looking at anything near the size of an X7 when I was in my 20s.

Buyers who are not actually in the market for an SUV can scoff at the notion of a XB7 all they want but the fact remains that there is a market for a high trim level X7. Mercedes is planning a Maybach version of the new GLS in the future.

I'm 44 years old, and up to this point, my market has been for a well-performing 3 series. Maybe a 5 series more recently. But I've always promised myself that when I get older and my driving needs and style "matures", I'd be getting a 7-series. I have some health issues that are shifting my focus more towards "old fart"-type cars (as the poster above put it), hence a big part of why I'm now getting an X7. If I had a ton more money, YES, I'd absolutely be looking for an XB7, or the (hopefully) upcoming X8. |

This is the XB7, Alpina boss said its coming. It's Alpina Blue. The exhaust is Alpina style not M760... enough said and for anyone who thinks a B7 is just a tuned 750i you have not driven one. Think perfect daily driver with a 0-60 of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 205mph. This is 8/10ths of a Culinan at less than half the price.

Not to mention if a X7 M60i goes to production, it won't be offered with a 3rd row. Instead, the second row would be situated aft 6" making it a pseudo "L" without lengthening the actual wheelbase.

Touareg never received the V12 TDI, only the W12 Petrol. Quote:
Problem with X7/8 M60i is that V12 is scheduled to cease production for BMW in 2023, with Rolls to follow in 2025. |

If that were to happen, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I have no need for a 3rd row in my upcoming X7. I'd rather have a super luxurious 2nd row, more like a 7er sedan. Have been advocating for this for years, ala the X8 or four door concept.
