Hard no from me. Wouldn’t even consider it. Old tech, heavy, floaty, slow, bad MPG, looks like crap someone bolted together in their backyard etc.

I own an X7 and used a Wagoneer on several trips. I would say drive one and see what you think. It is a nice vehicle from a domestic manufacturer with its limitations. Roomy yes, materials used are good and drive as been planted on the long distances I've traveled (well over 10,000 miles).

Looks like bolted together in their backyard with all the bestest parts from JC Whitney's catalog.

Thank you for your insight. I actually test drove a Grand Wagoneer Series 3 today. Definitely nice at least on the surface. Wood trim is much nicer than X7 and leather is better than base leather in X7 though not as nice as the full merino package. The 510hp inline six is quick too (quicker than my pre-LCI 40i) though the BMW I6 sounds better. Doesn't handle as well in the corners as expected but it drives better in a straight line with less head toss and wallowing than one experiences in an X7. X7 is a tad quieter on the highway but the GW is still very quiet. Big hang up is the high number of issues reported on the Facebook groups.

Last night we met up with our friends who just bought a GW series 3. I got a ride in it after dinner. It really looks plush inside. He also owns an X7 50i. The sound system is great, the leather soft n supple. Granted it was night, it did look very nicely put together. It is big bulky box, bigger than the Escalade I believe. He said the ride was softer than the x7, the i6 generates lots of power but gives only 13 mpg, is not as quick as his x7. Comes with the auto running boards. You do feel you are sitting at the height of an RV.
He has it for 5 months now. No issues.

Per BMW X7s are “SAVs”. So, technically there’s a difference there too! 😉😂
