At least some people are putting 2023 in the thread title which is nice. Need to promote that technique for all! |

They really are completely different in almost every way. Had a 2019 for almost 4 years and just got a 2023.

Didn't we already beat this horse to death like 6 months ago? There's no need to keep telling people about how your older car is soooo much better than their new one.

Plus the LCI now gets the BMW crystal headlights Iconic Glow so that’s something new and special for you LCI owners that the pre LCI never had… so you’re miles ahead now. Go LCI |

I don’t see that happening. Despite what people may think, the pre-LCI and LCI versions of the X7 have more in common, than differences. None of the larger, more popular forums do that (like the 3/4-series or M3/M4 forums for example). You just need to be a bit savvy when searching for stuff …. I have found that searching outside of the forum, using Google, can be more effective than the search function inside the forum, when looking for info on the forum - if that makes sense .
But what would be nice is if the X7 forum had at least some of the same sub-forum categories of the larger ones. Having separate wheel/tire, audio/electronics, and DIY/coding sub-forums, for example, would help to better organize the X7 info. It seems like the X7 fan base on the forums is growing at a pretty decent rate so hopefully the admins will consider at least a few more sub-forum categories for the X7.

Sub-forums are typically split up by generations based on chassis code. As long as this is still the G07, LCI or not the sub-forum will be the same. (Besides, they're much more similar than people might think).
The H07 or whatever BMW decides to call it, will get a separate sub forum.

The "H07" or H platform designation won't begin until the development of the G99. BMW model/chassis platform nomenclature progresses to the next alpha/numerical designation as it begins development. Some designations don't pass on to be produced...but their nomenclature remains in-house. So when you see a skip...it reveals that whatever model was in development was killed off.

That will be my next one for sure. We love our PHEV 530e, and we think it is the way to go. Gas for highway, EV for city trips, gas+hybrid again when u want fun in city. Downside it only comes with smaller engines, but if it's boosted via electric motor, that's fine, but will miss the noise. Am sure BMW will come up with real exhaust sound tricks (BMW being BMW). We couldn't even get a dedicated forum for the M5 CS (even though there is one for the M2 CS). I doubt they would do one for a LCI.

95% of questions from wheels to interior leather is the same. Even in depth, technical questions are practically the same with the same solutions (reboot idrive). Ordering is the only ever changing and that is typical every year.
No way a separate forum is going to happen with the X7 LCI. |

I miss my 2019 in a lot of ways, but I like the look of the LCI exterior better. It drives pretty much the same; new one may be a tad quicker but not a big difference. I miss the buttons, rear seat entertainment, alcantara sunroof shade, easier climate controls, and gear shift. And my new one has Bowers & Wilkins, which is a huge upgrade. Overall, it was time for a new car and I wanted another X7 to replace the old one. But it’s not a “better” car IMO. It’s just a newer car.
