Sun protection for X7

Hey everyone,

I am planning to take the X7 to a pretty hot place and keep it under the sun the whole day. What's your recommended products to keep the car covered and protect its paint? Any suggestion is welcome. Thanks.

just remember, unless your car is and will stay perfectly clean, covers will grind grit and dirt into the paint. this will be far more damaging to the paint than the sun.
basically outdoors covers will do more harm than good as any dirt thats either on the paint or gets blown under the cover will turn into sand paper as the wind blows and moves the cover.

Thanks guys. I think it's better to let the car sit under the sun.

I used this sunshade for my windshield and I can confirm it fits perfectly for the X7 and is ideal for what you’re looking for. It made a huge difference in lowering interior temp and was easy to fold away.

That’s why I avoided that one as it also takes up too much space on a long trip where every inch is important. The one I mentioned above folds up to the size of a small dinner plate.

But how can you guys let everyone know you drive a BMW without the big BMW across the protector? Do you put an extra sticker that says BMW on the Amazon one?

Ceramic tint goes a long way to help. Alas, dashboard and seats are huge heat syncs so using a cover on them can help with cooling efficiency when getting into a 100+° car.

WeatherTech sun protector for windscreen was about $65 plus shipping for XB7 when I ordered one a couple weeks ago. That screen really works here in the Florida sun.
