2024 X7 4.0 close range sensor problems

At just 850 miles driven, the error messages captured in the images started to show up. It is currently at the service center where they first thought it was a pinched wire harness. Now they claim it is a faulty close range sensor which has to be shipped from Germany.

Anyone else with the same issues? This is my second X7, which I custom ordered since I loved my 2020 model so much. It is also our 8th BMW and we have never had issues like this.

I get the occasional message of driver's assistance restriction, but it's caused by me when I block the sensor in the dash that's used to track my eyes and head to ensure I'm paying attention.

This is also our second X7...our first was a 2021. No issues with that one.

Hope this is an isolated incident and they take care of it quickly.
