48v Battery Issues

I have a 2021 40i with almost 88k miles on it.

Way back in 2022 when it was only 7 months old the 48v battery failed and stranded me in the middle of the road. (I was trying to make it to my kid's school but failed). It was in the shop for several weeks awaiting a replacement.

So, at the beginning of February this year, with about 87.5k miles, just after I left the house I got a power steering failure warning and shortly thereafter a "stop carefully: power supply" and the warning that the battery cannot charge. I pulled over & got a tow to the dealer.

After almost a month there, they took it out to try and duplicate the problem but could not. For whatever reason, for the battery to be replaced under warranty they needed the fault to happen twice. It did not happen, so they released the car back to me, but now I'm basically just waiting for the problem to recur at the most inconvenient possible time.

If you look at the bill, they "connected battery charger, performed full ID, found multiple 48v battery faults stored in the vehicle. Recommending replacement of 48v battery."

Not sure if I should be hanging on to this thing much longer, but am hoping to maybe pick up a '25 x3 this fall. Anyone else have similar problems?

If you're getting a MY25 4-cylinder X3, it's getting the 48V battery for the first time!

Is the battery system under a different warranty? Or is the dealer being kind to help with this problem and not charge you?

It was replaced once at 30k so the battery is under a different warranty.
