Spoke to my client advisor this morning and he said his system was not showing those dates - was just showing confirmed order - but said the system he has available to him is often wrong and sometimes cars show up at the dealership without any change in the status in his system.

Hopefully it’s all on track. I’d like to take delivery this month so that I can take advantage of the 2 months of lease payments offer.

Are they not able to lock those offer in for leases? I know for finance, they can lock in the offers for 60 days. I asked my SA to lock in the current finance offers end of this week in case the June offers are not as good. Maybe they can lock offers inf or leases as well?

Mine completed build on the 19th as well, and was told by Genius line that it was placed on a train on the 19th and should arrive at the VPC in Oxnard CA in 10 to 15 days (So possibly as early as this Friday), then it would take VPC 2 days or so to process and then truck it to my dealer.

They can lock the money factor, residuals and general incentives. The condition on the lease loyalty credit though is that delivery is taken by 6/1.

Conditions for finance also states take delivery by 6/1 but my SA says they can lock in for 60 days so delivery can be up to 60 days later.
Not sure if lease allows that.

I have read that the system has experienced a few glitches in the recent past. Thanks in advance for your comments.
Does anyone who has received the "Invalid Production Number" waiting on their build received any updates from the dealer or elsewhere? thanks

Placing order tomorrow. Told by SA that it's about 3-4 weeks now on special order. Can lock in incentives and financing for May and told that if June changes, I can get June if it's better. For Leases, I was told you can't lock, but they will try to work something out if June gets worse.

My X7 moved to dot 3 today - the anticipation is intense but the joy of a dot move is substantial! I'm particularly happy since I saw on another thread that the 2021 model apparently won't allow an x40i to include the Bowers & Wilkins diamond surround, which is one reason I went with a special build.

You can lock it for leases.
I did so for about 3.5 months
Order to delivery date. So trust the forum info.
It's 99.99% accurate and much more informative and accurate than most SA either they keep it hidden for sales techniques or they are unaware and they are simply salesmen who don't invest in knowing their products.

I think 4-6 weeks max now as they need to complete 2020s before reprogramming for 2021s. I got a 2020 in!!! Never thought I'd say that.

In this case that might be true, as mine was delivered in the last few days before the lockdown.
And yeah I hear you I got away with a MY2020 not the 2021 order. 🙃
Who would've thought, then again. It's a crazy year so far. 🤪

Looks like BMWUSA lost my car.
My February ordered car was finally built (after several delays) on May 18th. Left the factory on May 19th via Rail heading towards west coast.
On May 26th it arrive in Kansas City and left the same day. According to both BMWUSA Genius line and my dealer, the car was scheduled to arrive in Oxnard CA on June 4th.
When it did not arrive on June 4th I contacted BMW genius and they had no idea where it was and told me to call back Monday morning. As of this morning, neither BMW Genius line or dealer knows where the car is. Both of their systems show the car was supposed to arrive June 4th but never did and does not show the current location of the vehicle.

The guy on the genius line says it seems the car is missing/lost.

Has anyone else ever heard of a car disappearing during transit from factory?

I don't want to have to re-order and wait again, especially if the rumors of options no longer available in the 2021MY are true.
Plus I've already sold my car to an out of state buyer so I'm without a vehicle right now. (Been told many times by dealer that car will arrive next week, then again next week and so on).

Feeling extremely frustrated with BMWUSA. I've had extremely bad luck this past year with both MBUSA and BMWUSA and my ordered cars going missing.

Does the plant in Spartanburg ever close or does it run 24/7?

Spartanburg, pre-pandemic, would run 3 shifts with staggered hours and alternating days off. Plant doesn't run on Saturday and closed for 9 holidays for a total of 20 days for A, C shifts and B shift-start Sun night or 15 days for workers in B shift-start Monday.

TLDR;
Yes, Spartanburg closes and runs 20/5.

I heard that the factory is almost operating at full capacity and the production for the X7, specifically, is being ramped up due to high demand on this model. BMW genius confirmed to me today that my vehicle will be a 2020 model (ordered a few days ago) and is expected to be built the end of July.

40i, 50i or M50i ? Makes a difference. My local dealer held me up for days waiting for something they never found as well. I had to do the search myself in the end by calling place after place.

Dealers for some reason aren't willing to trade...maybe low inventory...so you will have to find the actual dealer that has an allocation. Don't count on a dealer that doesn't have an allocation giving you info so you can go elsewhere. They will most likely stall you out until you buy something on their lot or you are forced into 2021 ordering.

I can't decide if they'd be doing me a favor if I got pushed to 2021. I would lose leather dash and power rear sunshades (wtf) but maybe worth it for one fewer year of depreciation on the purchase.

It arrived!

After 15 months of waiting, it's finally here.

Apparently it went by rail to Richmond CA rather than Oxnard CA. Not sure why it would go to Richmond CA. BMW Genius says it was on rail to Oxnard CA and was supposed to have arrived in 6/4 but had no idea where it went when it didn't arrive on 6/4.

Dealer said it arrived by rail in Richmond CA yesterday, and was trucked to dealer today. Arrived about an hour ago. They are going to prep it and I will pick it up tomorrow morning!

Luckily I have to work tonight, otherwise it will be a sleepless night!

My order is official and I have a Week 30 build date (July19). Per everyones experience here, are these pretty accurate or can they change (move up or down)? Just wondering as if you all think it won't move past "Scheduled for Production" until July 19, then I won't bother checking the website like a maniac anymore.
