It is out already from what I heard. Hopefully someone will post it soon. I am as well waiting to see it now that the Alpina XB7 has disappointed me on the look and the upcharge ($40k plus) for what you're getting. I'm biased to the M-Sport look and that's not an option apparently in the XB7. I wonder what's new for the M50i 2021 .

For what it's worth, the up-charge to go from M50i equipped similar to a XB7 is $32,000. Nothing to sneeze at but not $40K plus either. Comparing base prices doesn't give you the whole picture because a base XB7 includes a number of items that are optional on a M50i.
Are the changes Alpina made worth $32,000? That's a very personal decision but I would venture a guess that if the owner of a loaded M50i were to tune it to the same level as the XB7 (engine, exhaust, suspension, exterior changes, electronic upgrades, etc.) it would cost the same or more. And I get why some prefer the looks of the M50i, it's more sporty looking and cost a lot less but Alpina buyers are looking for something different, more exclusive. I'm considering the XB7 but may end up buying a 2021 X7 M50i this fall. Time will tell. Last edited by LittleJoe; 06-01-2020 at 08:43 AM.. |

Question to you smart folk...on an ordered and financed vehicle does BMW allow you to lock in the finance rates and incentives when you order the vehicle and will they let you switch to a lower rate or better incentive if one is offered when the vehicle arrives?
The dealership I am speaking to is saying since I've already done the credit check etc. and I'm already approved for BMW finance and the vehicle is already on order that when it arrives I will at minimum get what is being offered this month. I'm trying to make sure this is the truth from someone on here who knows for sure. Is this absolutely normal on an ordered vehicle or do I need something in writing from the dealership? Thanks for any help! |

I ordered mine almost 4 months ago and have had my dealer lock it in twice already. If my car doesn't arrive soon, they will have to lock it in again. (promotions has gotten about $250 better over that timeframe). |

I guess the smart thing to do would be to re-lock at the end of every month.. unless it got worse then you would hold what you had and hope the vehicle is done before the remainder of the 60 day lock period was up. |

One additional question...Do you get any paperwork from the dealer or something online from BMW that officially shows the time/rate/incentives etc. of your lock?

I think "technically" the dealer does not have to honor a new rate after the lock period or if the incentives change in favor of the buyer during the lock period while waiting to take delivery - you will have to read the fine print on that. If there is no fine print on this, you will need to get this specific verbiage in writing. That said, it would be an over the top ridiculous business practice for BMW to not honor better incentives for the buyer if they become available as they do change from month to month. I have not heard of BMW not honoring better incentives if they become available, at least not on this forum, so you should be fine.
