Looks great. Why’d you move the X7 badge to the wrong location?

How easy was it to remove the chrome strip and exhaust cover? They are killing me.

The chrome strip was not hard, but it’s flimsy so you have to be careful with it. I don’t know about the exhaust covers, they have to be powder coated so my paint shop did it.
I saw an x5 with the badge moved to the bottom of the lift gate and liked it so I placed it there after wrapping it. Not sure I’m loving it, may move it back.

I’m just waiting on the wheel spacers to arrive, I think that would give it a better look. I didn’t buy the staggered summer tires, I got tired of spending $1500 per year on tires so I went with the all seasons.

Confused I think everybody's curious, did you have your paint shop actually remove the rear bumper to powder coat the exhaust covers? And were you the one that pulled off the rear chrome strip, or was that also the paint shop?

In colder climates like here in Canada, I'd always get a set of winter tires on any car. They really make a huge difference temperatures below 0 and snow/ice.

I pulled out the rear chrome strip, it’s not a hard job, just like changing out a rear light.
The exhaust tips I did not do, that was the paint shop, it was $300 to powder coat both.

Cool... so did the paint shop have to remove the rear bumper for the exhaust tips? I assume the answer's no, and the $300 was just to powder coat.

You'll see I asked the same thing of RG in another thread. I'm asking, since this is an important point. G05 owners are finding that you can remove the exhaust covers without dropping the bumper, but it's extremely difficult. Trying to determine what people are finding with the G07, and if it's a similar situation.

Would also like to know. There's another thread up for OEM gloss black exhaust tips.

Here is the service manual on how to install. Looks like BMW would say you have to take down the bumper.

Call me crazy. But i think the chrome looks better on X7 than the black. But to each his own. Enjoy!

Just got a reply from the body shop that did mine, no need to drop the rear bumper. You only have to unclip the diffuser and the exhaust tips are held by 3 screws. Hope this helps.

What do you mean by "exhaust"? I thought we're taking about the front grill. Or that's their industry name? I'm confused...

If you haven't ordered yet, why not just spec it with shadowline trim and save the aftermarket upcharges?

I just received mine but have a dilemma - should I do it myself or you go body shop? I know those guys don't care much and my only concern is those plastic latch mechanisms. Btw anyone here from NYC?

I had my dealer do the mirror caps, side vents, kidneys and lower "boomerangs" on my M40i (full cerium delete). My SA is great and only charged me 1 hour of labor to do it all - around $200.
