BMW broker here, ask me anything!

I've done this for a the M3/M5 folks with amazing feedback, and I'm humbled at the positive response.

More importantly, I hope the members here can use the info to arm yourselves against the dealers who may not be as forthcoming to get the best deal possible on these amazing cars.

I broker 80-100 BMWs alone on a given month, and I'll try to use my knowledge to knowledge of the game to help those shopping around.

Again, I will do my best not to self-promote and keep it fun and educational!

Thanks, and ask away!

Always was curious who pays for the freebies like floormats and key chains when they are thrown in. My SA said it comes out of his pocket. I didn't really believe him

Do you charge a flat fee or a percentage of sale?

Oh great question!

It comes out of the dealer profit. Most SA make a flat $200-$400 per unit + a percentage share of anything over invoice.

To answer your question, if you deal is really good, they won't give free floormats

I charge a flat to the customer instead of building it in with the dealer.

It's much more transparent when a broker charges the customer a flat.

Do you know how much the dealer get for getting a customer to finance through BMW?

Also, is there any way for the customer to figure out the actual buy rate from BMW fs?

On my order dealer is marking up the rate and saying theyíre not. I know my credit score from multiple sources is 800+/income more than adequate so no reason for rate to be 2.9% vs 1.9%.

I want to tell them that if they donít give me the buy rate then Iím in just going to pay it off in full the second I can.

Yes!

Buy rate for BMWFS finance on a 2021 is 1.9% for up to 60 months, and 2020 is 0.9% for 60 months.

The max dealers can mark up is 1% which is probably what you are seeing. It kills a good chunk of the dealer discount if they play this game.

Great question!

Thanks! I read somewhere they lose some commission from BMW if the loan is paid off to early. Is this true? If it is, and I threaten to do this they may change their tune.

I have to finance to get all the BMW incentives.

If yes, will the Alpina xB7 be refreshed as well?

I can't remember if it's 60 days or 90 days, but yes they will lose the commission if it's paid before then.

Shout out to OP, I sent him a PM on a deal I was working (no opportunity for him to make any cash on the deal) and he was very helpful and super quick to respond.

Thank you for your contribution, it's guys (assume you're a male) like you whom make this forum so useful.

On my X7 order I am getting BMW apr cash, loyalty and $500 from the penfed/truecar program.

Will I able to add OL to that? I signed up for a BMW event, but don't want to waste my time going there if I can't apply the code.

THanks

I was shopping around today and dealer told me the pended $500 could not be stacked with the APR and Loyalty...said I would only get $3500...not $4000.

Can you confirm that it's stackable. I need some leverage with the dealer. Thx

Yes it can be stacked. You canít stack the other penfed offer (I believe $3250 when not financing through bmw) with apr/loyalty but the $500 works.

x7 Lease

I'm looking at a lease with an MSRP of 87,545 including 995 destination. Is the residual value calculated based on the number including destination or does it exclude destination?

So with a 55% residual is it 48,149.75 or 47,602.50?

thx!

I think it's just MSRP without the fees.

How would you rate a lease deal as a good deal
Based on the monthly payment Vs MSRP
Is it 1% or more or less or irrelevant?

I think the 1% rule is a good starting point
For those who don't know: https://www.leaseguide.com/articles/...e-car-leasing/

For BMW it's more about dealer discount and how much incentives BMWFS is giving.
