The BMW X7 production design has been fully revealed in these patent images. Although patent images are always unflattering, we've put together this preliminary visual comparison against the new BMW X5 to show how the two models will compare. For the latest photos/video and info on the BMW X7, follow https://g07.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1326698

I really dislike the grille connected to the lights like the on the 3er and the x7. It looks so much cleaner on the 2 and x5

The rear end looks better on the x7 but the rest of the styling cues on the X5 look smarter and sportier

I like the x7. That third row is vital. With the length of that rear door I feel the egress and exit will be easier.
Now pray for a good hybrid or a good diesel. Or both! In the USA... not going to happen but I can wish.

That and the rolls share a lot. It should be of no surprise to anyone how boxy it is. Glad I'm not their demographic for this. So many better large suv options out there for those who are at a much lower price point for the same creature comforts and square look

This vehicle is only being built to once agin fill a hole in their lineup. Bmw is the gm of Germany.

Hmmm patent images vs. fully rendered color photo. I wonder which will look better. I will reserve judgment until I can see them both in the flesh!

Looks exactly as I expected. I'm sure in ///M sport trim with the right wheels it'll look really nice.

I'm disappointed the interior is just a carbon copy of the X5. For a vehicle that will likely be tens of thousands more expensive than the X5 I expect more.

Oh well, it's not like I anticipate shopping for a vehicle in this segment for a very long time, if ever.

Kill the front end on them both

Who actual signed off on them looking like that? They are so hideous.

Using the grills as a pronounced design highlight was and is a horrible idea.

Agree. I prefer the look of the rear lights with chrome bar on the X7, X5's lights look a bit bland in comparison (at least in the pictures).

However, the front looks much better on the X5 IMO. Prefer the separated lights and the bumper on it. I think the X7 needs the M-sport package, while the X5 looks good even without it.

x5 is much better looking with the lights not connected to the kidney grille.

Btw, what the hell were they thinking when they designed the new front bumpers for the x5 and x7?? That's the cheapest and ugliest shit i've ever seen.

"There's very little resemblance to the X5, so it's not an extended wheelbase X5. It's very different – we wanted it to have its own identity."

Ummmmm.....
