Advice on Golf Tee Mod

After searching, I would like to ask for advice for my personal situation regarding this...

I have an OUT of warranty 2007 335i with 32,500 miles, and I live approx 75 miles from the nearest place which can service my car properly.

I would love to have the raspy sound of this mod but big picture thinking here, is it really worth it to take a chance and start unplugging wires and/or vacuum lines?

I can't help but think if it ain't broke, don't fix it. And this 335i isn't broken at the moment.

I've had the actuator in the trunk unplugged for about 8,000 miles with zero problems and no codes at all. It's there just for sound purposes.

Do it. And it doesnt make it raspy, btw. just maybe 15%-20% or so louder during non-WOT driving. Totally good 2 second mod, IMO.

do it. There is no harm from doing this. I have taken my car to the dealer many times with this unplugged and they never mentioned anything. Also, there is no harm to your car so why not do it.

I want to understand what this does.. i know that my car is louder after it has warmed up so does this mod just affect the sound upon cold startup by opening a flap that would open anyway after warmup?

When you drive non-WOT, only one side is functioning (right). with golf tee, both sides are open at all times, regardless of WOT. So teh mod isnt noticeable at high rpms because it is open anyway.

I see. and the left side being closed isn't closed to create any needed backpressure that would be given up if left open all the time?

Just do it. When you replace the OEM mufflers with Corsa mufflers, they give to two caps to plug the vaccum lines.

No. It has to do with warming the cats and something about European sound regulations as well. Do it. You will love it.....until it becomes not loud enough for you and you have to get an exhaust!

I did it (removed/plugged vacuum hose) to my E92 the first week I had it and it's been back to the dealer's numerous times for scheduled and unscheduled service. I put a BMW PE on the 128i the day we took delivery, and the PE muffler has a stub to plug the vacuum hose into since there's no vacuum servo or flap on it at all.
