BMW Genius- although very helpful and great group of people, live in an alternate universe with respect to developments at the factory. They did admit to me that their information comes from a tracker similar to our online one, but with slightly more information. Yes they don't have a hint of HK shortages even to this day. Right now everything is up in the air at the factory. My dealer told me not to bother with the online tracker or Genius until the order goes into production begins stage. At that point manufacturing is locked in and we are looking at 10-14 days from then to completion

I would really wonder if your car is really going to get built based on who your dealer and salesperson was (West German BMW). I've been exchanging texts with Raj's sales person for 2 weeks and it's like I have to chase the guy down to answer questions and finalize this supposed deal. I finally told him to take a hike tonight as I'll pay someone more who actually replies to messages quicker than every 3-4 days. First it was a death, then son's baseball game, every excuse as to why he can't reply to texts. Me thinks you got a great deal because they know your car is never getting built (he mentioned he had to go above his boss because his boss didn't want to give me the deal that he supposedly gave you so I'm guessing they may not want to really give you that deal when it's all said and done, too). I wasn't going to put an order in with them just to find out in a month it's not actually getting built. Absolute waste of 2 weeks with this clown.

I am not really sure why you are cursing my order here? Just because you did not get the same deal? I have been working with them for close to 4 weeks now and communication has been great. One thing you need to realize is that dealers tend to give better deals to buyers that live locally because they can depend on them for service business.

Once you place an order you will realize that production is a mess right now. Almost every order is delayed and constantly being moved around. Good luck with the search!

I looked at getting this one. But I am a sucker for 22"s. Did you get yours from them? How was your experience with this dealer?
I did get mine from them. Overall experience was not terrible. I had a better experience where I bought my custom build order X3 from. This dealer had what I was looking for without having to go through the hassle of ordering right now given current circumstances.

Not cursing your order....I was offered the same deal you were. However, I am beginning to wonder why our deals were so much better than anyone else was offering...and now it makes sense.

Hello all. New to BMW. Placed order for X7 on 5/8. It's a relatively basic build with premium package, parking assist, climate control and second row captains. So hopefully everything is in stock. BMW genius states scheduled for production week 22. How long abouts from production starting to completion and delivery?

Thanks

Here is my PCD experience thus far:

04/09/21 - Ordered an X7 iDrive40i in Ametrin Metallic, with every optional package, plus the trailer hitch. The pricing was ~2.5% off of MSRP. The dealership tossed in the BMW floor liners. While others have apparently gotten bigger discounts, I am obviously satisfied with my deal...otherwise, I would not have placed the order.

04/29/21 - MyBMW indicated "scheduled for production".

05/10/21 - MyBMW indicated "enters the production queue" and VIN assigned. I sent an email to the dealer salesperson, alerting him to the production queue status.

05/12/21 - The dealer salesperson and I confirmed a delivery date of 06/15/21 at the PCD. As we live in the Charlotte, NC area, the dealership will drive my wife and me to Spartanburg on the prior day.

Thus, my order-to-delivery window is ~2 months.

My wife and I have been consistent purchasers of new Mercedes-Benz (1985 190E, 1997 S320, 2005 SL500, and 2007 GL450) and Lexus (1997 LX450, 2003 RX300, 2010 LS450, and 2019 RX350) vehicles. We have historically driven the vehicles until "the wheels fall off" or technology advances are compelling. My SL500 is in near-new condition with 11,000 miles. My wife loves the RX350.

We are giving up the GL450 at 150,000 miles, just in time to obtain the first mileage badge. We hope this first BMW gives us the comparable pleasure provided by the MB and Lexus vehicles.

I think we ordered on same day (4/23). Mine is showing as order received again after over a week on production scheduled and Genius said a Week 25 production date. I called my CA and he said that mine is the next 40i slated for production but I don't know if that was just to get me to be patient.

Call BMW Genius today and see what they have to say. Mine was also week 25 and it shows "entering assembly line" as of this morning. We are at week 19 this week.

It's about a 9-10 day wait from here to actual completion.

Thanks for the info. I've notice that some of the folks post the various weeks/dates at various stages where their build was at. On the webpage mine shows scheduled for production, but not the week. I had to contact BMW genius for that. If that start date changes, will I be able to see that myself or would I have to call BMW genius?

I don't think you'll be notified if there are delays. You'll just set it sitting in production status.

The online tracker isn't accurate at all. For any information regarding production week you will have to call Genius. Even that information keeps changing on a periodic basis. Mine was pushed around in the timeframe of 4-6 weeks, before going into production last week, which was the original slot assigned by the dealer. Now I have a confirmed end date of May 25th and it's in the production begins status

Mine is stuck in exterior assembly for 4 days. Genius says the status should be production begins and not exterior assembly. What a mess!

Production end date is 5/22

I've received a message from my dealer, that if I agree on deleting HK and wireless charging, the car will be manufactured in week 30. So I agreed, hope stock audio won't be that bad..

Thanks for sharing. So the omission of wireless charging is indeed true! When I discussed potential omission of wireless charging with someone at BMW NA two days ago, they reacted as if I had no clue what I was talking about. They almost sweared that there's no way X7's are going out of the factory without it.

Nice of your dealer to give you a heads up. Would bmw just make the changes to the build without notifying the dealer? If so would those changes show up on their website? i.e. would things like wireless charging or lumbar support be deleted from your build specs?

This is what he told me today but like I said, the ordering process is longer here in Europe. So it's possible that he will contact me later with another bad news I can live without wireless charging and my plan was to keep the stock audio and in case it's really bad to upgrade it with aftermarket audio - Audison and Morel for $4K - but when I imagined that somebody will remove door pannels, perhaps it won't fit as new, I changed my mind, called my sales agent and ordered B&W
