It’s not entirely surprising. I wouldn’t want a car like that but if they’re going after folks who like G Wagons and cars like the Urus, I guess it makes sense. I’d imagine most who buy this car, probably typically wouldn’t drive BMW’s more traditional cars. |

I thought this thread was something about an XM being on fire.
Very confusing. |

Fire as in dumpster fire?
Then yes. It’s fire in black. Now set it on fire and turn it into a lump of black charcoal.

“Fire” always sounded like someone in their 40’s like me trying to sound young. Can it die soon?

I know we are nitpicking here, but hey, that’s what we do on forums full on enthusiasts. But for nearly 200k vehicle, you would think they could do a better job of integrating the wiper and not making it appear like such an afterthought.

The whole car is an afterthought - all the details. It’s like they played pin the tail on a donkey with badges and wipers and exhaust pipes and grill and moldings and accents. This is peak bmw design insanity. Someone needs to draw up a business school or maybe art school case on what’s happened with bmw since the glory days.

The image was captured at a left -degree angle from 180 degrees! Same angle as the top of the XM. The person with the camera has a heavy Left hand/arm! LOL!

But they will probably sell more of these than an R8, or M8.

Here's a crude make-over of the X///M's rear-end! Sometimes BMW take things a little to far (IMO).
Note: Edits made with OP's (Buddenfan's) advance approval...

Absolutely. But I don't view that as the purpose of a halo/flagship car akin to the M1 at its time. Demonstrating engineering/design prowess > profit and practicality for such projects.
Alas not like I was going to be in the market anyway

I find it amusing how they designed the body without built in tail lamps. They kind of tacked them on. Perhaps the wiper syncs right up! 😂
