Interesting! Whats the comparison between H&R sports springs which i have on and these? I feel that sometimes my springs are pretty harsh going over bumps and feeling every crack on the floor! These Coil overs big upgrade? I was going to get the V1's but some people are telling me its just as harsh as what i have now so it'd be pointless for me!

I had KW's on an older (2001) GTI VR6 and it rode harsh as hell. I couldn't do KW's again after that experience, but I'm sure for BMW's they are different and it's a few years later so again I'm sure they have gotten better. I would never talk bad about KW's as I do believe they make and extremely high quality product but it's not the only option we have. KW's probably have a better sport ride and perform better on a track but for street driving I think the H&R's are perfect. Again JMHO though.

The H&R's actually ride good I think the ride quality of the car has improved greatly even when running 19" wheels. As for how they compare with just a spring I don't know, I think they would be way better as you are getting a shock that is specifically matched to the spring, as with all coilovers.

Personally I like the drop of my H&R sport spring height but hate the stiffness and that i feel like i'm hitting a crater everytime i go over a bump! Will H&R Coilovers improve this aspect for me? Retain a less stiff ride but still sporty, and good if i raise it up for winter?

I'm getting mixed either V1 or H&R's? But from what i hear from this thread i may lean towards H&R, is there a type of H&R coil over brand i should look at?

As for the rusting question maybe this was a problem with older H&R coilovers but it's not the case with the new street performance line. The main thing that would rust and freeze in place would have been the collars and threads but the collars, shocks, and threads are all aluminum so there really isn't anything to rust or corrode. KW's are made with exactly the same material.
I cant tell from your pic but I think we have the same wheels lol

The H&Rs are not rust proof, nor do they have the dampening feature that the KW V3s have. If you're looking to save a few bucks, go with the H&Rs

I wouldn't know, but I rode in a friends car with just H&R springs and thought it was rather harsh. V1s I hear are good, but suspension is something I never compromise on any of my vehicles. That is why I went with the V3s

I wonder if i should go V1 or H&R Coil Overs , coming from H&R sport springs. It was rather harsh but had a very nice drop!

tough choice, haven't heard much feedback on the V1s yet. Seems like most people are happy with the H&Rs though

hmmmmm....really? Is it that bad? I have seen the video someone posted and could barely hear it but I guess if it was my car it would bother me more.

On a side note do you have to remove the shocks to adjust them?

Hedges are you not worried about the salt and crap from winter driving? I read the H&R coilovers are not stainless. Not like the KW's anyways.

No need to contribute to the rumor that H&R coilovers are susceptible to corrosion more so than the KW's.

Did you even bother to read the OP's replies?

KW shock tubes are stainless steel. I dont think the H&R's are.

Google around and see how many ppl have corroded H&R's vs the KW's.

Also, this is marketing shyte but still worth looking at http://www.kw-suspension.co.uk/salt-spray-test.htm
