alarm install in Southern California -- how much?

For those of you who live in Southern California, how much did you pay for the dealer to install the alarm (parts + labor)?

It seems like a few people around here were able to get it installed for $450, but none of those people are in Southern California. $450 seems like the best price available in the U.S.--anyone in L.A./O.C. get it for that much? If so, which dealer? (My Orange County dealer quoted me $595, but is checking to see if he can do it cheaper.)
Thanks.

I've already researched the DIY option and decided that it's probably not worth it.

I've heard that the dealer can charge up to $100 to install the alarm software if you install the unit yourself. To do it myself, I'd have to purchase a jack and torque wrench which would be about $120. Plus $100 dealer activation, plus $230 alarm cost gives a DIY price of $450. If the dealer can do it for the same amount or slightly more, then I'll let him do it.

Okay, thanks. At least I know that my dealer charging $595 isn't outrageous. Anyone here in So. Calif. have a dealer install the alarm? There's gotta some more fellow E90 owners around here--we probably have more German cars here in So. Calif. than anywhere else (outside of Germany)! Thanks!

Nick can't say "no", eh?

Okay cool, I'll check them out if Crevier can't give me a better price.

If anyone else had another dealer in So. Calif. do it, please let me know. (Nick Alexander is kind of in the 'hood.)

Insurance discount, peace of mind, and that cool blinking red light!

Seriously, I think it's a good deterent for anyone who wants to steal anything out of or from my car. Like a camera or something I leave on the seat, or my wheels, or emblem, etc.

I spent so much already on the car, the extra $500 or so seems like it's well worth it, don't you agree?
