California. Supply has been limited so Amazon has jacked up the price to almost $100/6 quarts. That is more expensive than Redline lol

Holy shit lol. I can pick mine up at Canadian Tire locally. On sale it's about 35$ for 5 liters, about 26$ USD.

I don't think it is LL01. Probably fine to use. It has MB 229.5 cert which is pretty stringent.

Either Castrol changed the formulation or didn't work with BMW to get it certified. There are still some of the older bottles out that show LL01.

I bought the 5quart 3 pack a few months ago and they didn't have the LL-01 approval labeled.

Its becoming almost impossible to find LL-01 oil now. I am still using Castrol 0w40 though, even if no longer certified.

The section under product description shows it meets LL01 among some other manufacturers certifications. I suspect they just don’t have room on the front to display all of it.

Good! If there are more bottles with LL01 on them you might want to stock up a couple of oil changes worth.

Exactly. The new OTC oil that is LL01 is the Pennzoil 5w-40 Euro Plat.

It's true though that the new stock is not LL01. At my store that exact oil does not have LL01 anymore. I suspect the stock on Amazon will eventually have that happen to.

Eh, BMW still sells it.

I was really referring to non-OEM oil...but does BMW even still sell it? I thought it was becoming hard to find even at BMW centers now as LL-01fe and more recent specs were taking its place.

I just bought 2 cases in October from getbmwparts.com. it's about $7.00/liter with shipping included if you buy their oil change kit.

I use it in our 22-year old M44 powered Z3, as well as my M54 and N52 powered cars.

I'm using 0-30 as per BMW manual. Very thin oil. Must be for fuel economy and maybe the oil gets into the turbos quicker? Love the dip stick the diesels have. Not too much confidence in the computer generated gauge. Change oil myself in-between BMW paid changes. Costs me less than $100 and an hour of my time. Down here in FL the dealerships want between $300 and $375 for an easy job. In Birmingham AL $115. Bought two cars from BMW Birmingham. Aggressive pricing and good service department.

I am using Castrol EDGE 5W-40. Been using Castrol since I got my F30. And I bought a lot of stock of it and stored them on my garage, and rats have been biting on them wasting a lot of my oil, I have been finding some ways to get rid of them and I found D-con Mouse Trap,I think this will do the job.
