Average fuel consumption on the 1M

I know this is a bit of a ridiculous question - but I'm getting a 1M soon and I wanted to see what fuel consumption everyone is getting on average.

What fuel consumption have you guys observed on your 1M's?

Miles per gallon (mpg) or liters per 100 km are what I'm looking for. Please don't give me the EPA estimates or any numbers BMW lists. I want real numbers from real drivers.

If I try really hard I can see 28-30 on the trip computer cruising down the highway. But practically, when it comes time to go to the pump, I'm averaging between 20 and 23 mpg. It all depends how heavy that foot is...

Just under 2,500 miles and the average MPG to date is 21.4, about 60% highway, 40% city this since the car was new. I've noticed a slight improvement as the car gets more broke in. My driving habits are "sprited"

I drive about 60 miles a day (40+ highway at 70 mph), and I see about 20-22 mpg consistently. 14 or so when driving mainly city.

800 miles. 18.9 mpg on avg. Driven hard but within breakin guidelines. mostly city driving and like 30 % hwy. But than again in NY our hwy driving is the same as city driving in most places.

I'm noticing some people are getting a lot higher numbers than others. I'm wondering if some of it is due to 93 octane vs. 91?

I'm not at home now so I can't check what I'm getting but I just got the car Saturday and only have 50 miles so my numbers wouldn't mean much.

it's hard to have a baseline since everyones driving style and commute is different. Just where you live matters a lot.

I track mileage and MPG for all my cars. The 1M to date:
24.86
21.22
28.72
28.92
24.37
23.64
24.89
25.12
24.86
23.36

All averages to about 25 MPG for the last 2400 miles, with no track days and spirited driving but not hard driving style.

24.7mpg (imperial gallons) over 5100 miles on Shell 99RON and 100RON in Germany, pretty good for mainly country roads and motorways.

I'm quite impressed by most of these numbers. My 2011 335i Convertible would get 20.9mpg on average - with about 80% highway with heavy traffic commute everyday. I considered that to be not that great.

I'm hoping the 1M will do slightly better when it comes in - we'll see how the tradeoff goes between the significantly lower weight (no foldable top to drag around) and the higher tuned N54.

I've only got about 300 miles on mine (mostly the drive back from PCD past Friday).

My daily commute is about 15 mins on surface roads in traffic and I'm averaging 19 mpg as of today.

With the cruise set on 81, I get about 25 - 25.5 mpg. I made this 300 mile trip four times now and it is pretty consistent. I was able to nurse 28+ out of it once, but it takes a really light touch of the right foot. I average about 22.5 mpg for my normal driving style (lead foot) in a combo of city and highway.

My 135i Coupe used to get about 27mpg so the 1M is only a couple down.

Cruising at 70-75mph from Sacramento to San Francisco on a just filled tank, I was seeing around 32mpg.
According to the pump, I got just about that after I filled up when arriving in San Francisco.

City driving in San Francisco with all the hills, I get about 21mpg.

By the way, I keep the car in Sport mode when I drive but don't drive like a maniac.

I think it def makes a difference. I noticed a 2 mpg decrease in 15 over limit easy highway breakin miles on shit 91 octane. Seemed like it lost a bit of pep too but that could be my imagination. But ya, 91 will def get worse mileage than 93 from my expreiance.

Sucks for us out here in California - we can only get 91. There are some bloody expensive places that offer 100 Octane, but they are very few and far in between.
