Garage List
So after requesting to change my build to include full merino ivory/atlas grey, I noticed the vehicle associated with my production # completely changed to something else. Does anyone know if this is a glitch that'll get sorted out automatically? Or am I supposed to get assigned a new production #?

Got it. Guess I had that backwards.

My rep is more optimistic, he said in the past they expect 1-2 months delays for full merino leather. So he thinks within 8 weeks for sure.

I decided to add and wait. Full Merino really makes the interior reach another level of luxury.

First time ordering, can someone explain what to expect next. Our build says "Scheduled for Production". My dealer just said, "It'll start production in August.". I'm not sure if he has additional visibility or whether all of them start in August. I heard from other threads that these things get built pretty quickly (~1 week). As there's no ocean in transport, that's probably a week as well.

Just wondering what to expect now and ballparks for when the car will arrive. I have another car to sell which ideally I'd want to sell right around when we get this car. I have family coming in mid/late September so wouldn't want to sell our current SUV if there's any risk of not having the new car by then. That said, we're not driving our other SUV now and could presumably sell it at any time outside of the need for when my family comes and we need to haul 6 people regularly.

I won't make any decision until I have more concrete info, but just sort of wondering what is to be expected next from an entire process/timeline standpoint.

its about two weeks from the start of production till the car is released to carrier. then waiting for a transport.

if all the stars align, i've had a car from spartanburg flip to in production the night after the order was placed, and be at the dealer for pickup 14 days later, including a holiday weekend. i think thats on the shorter end of timing; an order later that same year took 20 days. my dealer is in the NYC area so their cars are trucked from SC.

not sure if the cars for the midwest and west are shipped by train then truck. there have been some rail delays recently.

my dealer is telling me mid to late august for delivery, and that my allocation is for a week 31 build. once the order status flips to 150, then you should have a production date assigned.

another wrinkle is EPA certification, that can delay release of the car. always a possibility at the beginning of the model year. as of right now it does not look like the X7 has had its EPA certification completed (this is normal, its usually just self certification data)

so far only these bmws have been certified for MY2023

if you are really curious, theres data hidden in the underlying code for the "my garage" webpage. developer mode in chrome exposes it
-full options list including if there were any on the fly deletions
- production status code
- production date (this will fill in and change as things progress)

same production number... request a VIR from your CA.

if the prod number changed, they might have swapped prod slots for a later one and reconfigured the earlier slot.

Thanks. I recently got a limited edition Volvo that was the first of its kind in the US, and it sat waiting for EPA (first Extended Range Polestar PHEV V60 stateside), then tornados in the gulf delayed truck transport from Georgia to Texas (was truck not rail). Fortunately, Texas isn’t a CARB state, but others had theirs’ held even longer for CARB. I can share a thread from the Volvo forums on that experience if you desire. So, I actually thought of EPA delays today honestly.

I guess is should ask my dealer what week my build is, I feel like I’ve emailed him too much on this car already, haha.

Hi, I live in Brooklyn. I asked the dealer in Brooklyn, they said they don’t take the 2023 x7 Order until they in production. Can you tell me which dealer did you go to? Thanks

I'm guessing...maybe they are rescheduling the production because a full Merino would cause a delay of about 2 months. So it's quite possible the production numbers are in chronological order...so due to the delay they will assign a new production number.

I was told by my SA the order has been put in. I was also given an order number but when I try to add into my garage, the system keeps giving me error. What am I missing or is there anything needs to be done by the store?

I was able to see the vehicle on the website, but as soon as I hit add vehicle, the error page came up.

Hi,

A question for the experts here.

I have had a few BMWs in my life, but in all of them, I got what my dealer had on the lot. So this is my first experience with orders from the factory.

I put the order in with my SA last week, and it changed to "scheduled for production" on the same day; however, I found a mistake in my order this week, which the SA fixed, but the order is now sitting back in "order received" in last day plus. So does it mean I missed all first allocations and have to wait for the next batch? Or it is just a matter of a few more days until it will be "scheduled for production."

As a side note, my dealer is one of the biggest in the NC area.

Call the genius line and get a live person on the phone. 844-443-6487

My vehicle went from 112 to 111, sometime in the past day or two. I just called the Genius line and was told I am scheduled for production the week of August 8th, regardless of what the website says.

Thank you!

I called, and they said it is scheduled for production the week of August 8th, so I didn't lose my spot. From there, it is a short delivery from SC to NC.

what stage is it in "my garage"?
150 = production begins
if you look at the source code in developer mode (F12), it will tell you the production date (the day the car finishes production)
