Couple questions:

1. Do you see anything in the park assist about "Memory Parking" or "Maneuver Assist" (More Details: https://g07.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1937169)
2. Does the trunk open with a kick under it? My 2020 does, but heard chip shortages killed that.
I'll have to confirm tomorrow on Memory Parking. I definitely saw things in the Parking that advertised to remember a parking situation, so I think that's there. I'll advise tomorrow.

I haven't tried kick to open. My Volvo's have that. Is there a doc or picture of where to kick?

I'll try to capture video of both of these tomorrow morning.
Amazing, thanks!

Here is a screenshot of the kick to open operation.

Pro Tip, download BMW Drivers Guide and paste your VIN, it will sync the owners manual for your car.

I’m basically using this thread as car porn until mine gets out of jail.

Send some head on and front angled shots when you get a chance.

Congrats on the new ride. It looks amazing. I would have to echo your sentiments on the iDrive8 learning curve. I'm sure that as more people get onto their cars we can collectively gain more understanding.

I can confirm the parking assist stuff. I've already recorded my path into my garage (right hand entry). I have not yet let the car repeat it. I am a nervous nelly.

On top of this lighting which includes the strip LEDs in the doors and the new "X7" or "///M" LED bar across the front passenger area, there's a subtly purple hue coming out of the door grab areas.

I expected based on what I read that this all would be customizable, but it appears it is not, at least for now. When I attempt to adjust settings in the car, I get the following error "Function currently not available" indicating it only adjusts based on drive mode (which it does). I can't adjust the boring beige color, nor can I adjust the purple areas. Contrast to my Volvo which gives me great controls to control every lighting color.

My genius mentioned a pending over the air update that will introduce more colors and options. We can only hope the this feature is included.

Yes, it has this feature. You can enable it in the UI. I will say it's nearly impossible to get it right. I had to try a dozen times each and can't really find the sweet spot, but it is there. It's much more difficult than our previous cars with this feature. I looked under and couldn't see the sensors either. I'll keep practicing.

More pictures coming, but I swear, only on this web site, every time I upload a picture it shows upside down, so I have to create a new one using a screenshot and lower res PNG file. SO ANNOYING.

Pics of front end. Apologies, I had only a few minutes this morning, my driveway is cantilevered and it's just not a great angle.

I saw some update areas of the UI but it wasn't obvious what should happen there. Do updates come over the built-in mobile plan, or do I need to load USB or connect to Wi-Fi. Will it prompt me when software is out. What about maps? I need to spend more time with the car.

Thanks for the help.

New question, what's the recommended strategy for two drivers. We both have iPhones. I shared my CarKey with my wife, but I'm thinking that'll probably just link to my settings. How should we approach configuring the car so if she walks up to it with her iPhone it defaults to her settings instead of mine? I don't think she needs her own BMW ID to achieve that does she? Can I just add her phone directly in the car sort of how I paired mine?

If it works the same as the physical keys, she will need her own BMW ID and it will sync to her key. Definitely gets confusing when you both are riding together, but generally you can switch profiles easily in iDrive if it connects to the wrong profile.

Thanks. I’ll have her create an account. Does she just add it by VIN? What prevents just anyone doing that and getting access through the app (I know pairing in the car requires both keys), but just using the app. Perhaps I have to do it from in the car.

Interesting -- my '22 X7 50i has the Extended Shadowline package and my rear trim strip is black (no chrome at all unless you count the badges and alloys). Maybe the factory was short black trim pieces on the day yours was built. I'd inquire with the dealer before taking on a DIY attempt.
