Then simply do what I've just done.
I've just spent 12 nights in the USA combining work with a bit of a break, and drove over 1000 miles in a 4.0 litre petrol auto Grand Cherokee. Enjoyed it greatly while I had it - surprisingly good build quality, Nappa and a good sound system. Ideal for lazy cruising. Got home, jumped into my car and was suddenly transported back to my first day with it. That fat chunky steering wheel, go-kart handling (relatively) and obscene power compared to the Cherokee. Twice I accelerated hard on a dual carriageway and felt shocked at the sheer grunt on tap. Of course, after a few days, normal service is now resumed and it all feels like business as usual. A good way though to appreciate my daily ride. For those interested, I achieved 16mpg over the 1000 miles in the Jeep, a tank range of about 220 miles, and a full tank was about £22. |

I had a similar experience driving around California in a Dodge Nitro in August, what a heap of sh**e (to coin a carlito expression!). It would make driving a Skoda Fabia seem like a pleasant experience!
Have to say I was a bit concerned when I saw the title of your thread! |

We recently hired a Chrysler 300C in Florida and I dont think I have ever driven a bigger heap of dung in my life. It was a V6 but had the power of a fiesta and didnt even seem to sound like a 6 cylinder. The brakes were rubbish and it felt like it was gonna topple over around corners.
I have never driven one here, but surely they could not be that bad in this country - or noone would buy them. I was totally shocked at how bad it was!!!

I remember renting a Ford Taurus in Toronto. Had a 3.5l V6, four speed auto, electric everything, and went pretty well in a straight line. Heaved it round a corner, and discovered a new meaning for the term "tyre squeal"... it was so great, felt like I was a cop speeding around... Although, in truth I took the corner at about 15mph and it sounded like I was doing a 100...
Discovered what the reason behind it was - they had inflated all the tires to only 22psi...!!!! Hahaha... looking around at the other American cars, so many of them are like that, to make the ride comfortable. Took it to a gas (sic) station, pumped up to 35psi, and did my best to break the car. I have to admit, it took a huge amount of punishment!! |

I'm bored of waiting for mine! Only 1 month to go
I've just got back from two weeks in the States and we rented a Cadillac SRX 'Crossover'. I loved it, it was brand new and we did 1000 miles driving from Vegas up to San Francisco. I didn't want to hand it back. Then we flew further south and I'd booked a convertible but we ended up being given a PT Cruiser Convertible. Now that was a piece of crap. |
