Interested in the X7 M50i?

If so, you might want to play around with the German configurator:

https://www.bmw.de/de/ssl/configurat...5/G07/esl/new/

Interesting to see how the extended shadowline and Alcantara headliner in interior color looks....

Enjoy!

A fully loaded one with all options available is indeed almost 150K - but those are Euros which makes it even worse..

Granted, that includes sales-tax but it shows how lucky we are in the US. We save quite a bit compared to Europe.

No I did the math and converted to dollars.

Still, that’s crazy. How the heck is a German car so much less expensive here versus there??

There's definitely more taxes. One of them adds 20% to the price automatically. Not sure what the others are but I'm sure there's more.

Yeah, sales-tax in Germany is 19% right now.

So the one I put together based on the MY20 PG here in the US costs $126,325 plus sales-tax.

The same configuration in Germany is EUR 125,000 plus tax. At the current conversion-rate, we are already looking at $141K for the same configuration.

Now, of course, the running costs (insurance, gas, registration) are also much higher in Germany.

BTW, this is an option on the M50i that I have not yet seen on the U.S. order guide:

M Safety Belts.

Looks fancy!

Also don't forget that the X7 is manufactured right here in the U.S That means there're no U.S import taxes (2.5%) whereas in the E.U the X7 is right away subject to a 10% import tax. Also more costs are incurred in transportation & distribution of the vehicle to the E.U since the vehicle is built in the U.S

This is what it's looking like when I choose the new MY2020 full merino individual black leather, and the new black trim with aluminum inserts.

Generally, I like it, but in the small pictures, it's tough to tell how prominent the aluminum inserts are.

Loving the seats. That's going to be a must-do for me.
