Hi all,

I’m really racking my brain to find the setting to enable automatic steering wheel warmup when I remote start the car. Anyone know where this feature is hiding in iDrive?

I don’t think it exists, at least I haven’t seen it...

That’s too bad, it was an option on earlier vehicles. I wonder if this is a thing to get activated via coding. Bah.

Why can't BMW have that setting in the App. Steering wheel heating is as important as heated seats. The programming shouldn't be complicated. The heated steering wheel in my 2019 M5 turns on automatically when left on before a quick stop. I'll check if it works works for for next day. But then I don't have remote start in my 2019 M5. The iDrive system is different for 2019 and 2020 versions.

pretty sure it turns on by default if you set the seats to warm below a user specified outside temp.

Have been thinking this too. It should be able to come on automatically, just like the seats.

Maybe they’ll add that in a subsequent update cause this morning my seat warmers came on but the steering wheel did not. Oh well, one of these days

Seats and even arm rests turn on no problem. Wheel is chilly.
Considering an older vehicle (video) has this option it feels like they just forgot to include/enable it.
