I just got my new 2019 X7 xDrive50i (with M trim with 21" wheels) on Wednesday, and with only 150 miles on the odometer I already used my compact spare (although I haven't actually driven on the spare, just is sitting in my driveway with the spare on it). I got a sheetmetal screw in my tire and it is too close to the sidewall to patch. $300 for the tire replacement ++ (mounting/balancing/etc..) so close to $400 with taxes. I was only able to get it from BMW as none of the tire shops around me could get it. Although the dealer is only $20 more than tirerack.com so not too bad.

I am glad I got the compact spare though! I wish they offered a full size spare.

Call the dealer and tell them that you know there's a road hazard warranty from tire manufacturer. I had the same problem and they replaced mine for $50

Hmm according to Bridgestone, road hazards such as punctures are explicitly excluded from the warranty:

You're lucky! Over the years, had side nails on BMW, Mercedes and PORSCHE (felt like side nail was a scam but none of the the dealers ever agreed to change them under road hazard warranty from manufacturer.

Sorry but, Pirelli's I have do indeed have that coverage. Didn't realize that the other brands didn't

Where to get compact spare for 2020 x7, 21" runflats

Bought my x7 off the lot and dealer couldn't get me a compact spare for it. Want one for peace of mind given where we travel.

I went to a couple of tire shops and they said getting the tire was easy but they could not get the proper wheel.

Any idea where I purchase or options for a compact spare that matches my 21" tires/wheels?

I had the same issue with my 2011 X6. The dealer was able to add it after the purchase but it cost 2x more than if I included it in the lease.

BMW Part numbers/info for the wheel here.
BMW Part numbers for the jack parts here.

Find a new dealer, what they told you is BS. With these part numbers any dealer or online BMW vendor can get the parts. Look online for the best prices, especially for the tire, which can be had much cheaper than buying a tire from any dealer....
