Also noticed that when I leave the car it doesn’t have just the message about valet mode but also includes an option for climate conditioning the vehicle (not sure how I’m supposed to use that as I’m getting out of the car, and not getting into it!)
What recall and engine issues did you have? Is your x7 and 2019 or 2020?

Something had to be checked for an airbag, one for the backup camera? Also I was having low coolant issues repeatedly. They told me there’s no leak but I’m skeptical because I refilled coolant twice and kept getting the warning and my coolant low. We’ll see

My remote start is no longer working since the update. How do I fix this again?

Software update resets the remote engine start.
You need to go-to climate control under the setup, next go under preconditioning/ventilation and finally re-select the remote engine start.

It should work.

Thank you!

Turns out now I’ve also had two backup camera malfunctions since the software update. Never had that issue before. I saw that was one of the recall issues. Glad they gave me broken software so that now I have a problem I never had before.
Sigh

Did you try rebooting iDrive to see if that fixes the problem? Press and hold the volume/on/off button for about 30-40 seconds until the screen goes black.

It's worth a shot and won't hurt anything.

Just found out remote engine start is another feature not available on Australian X7s. We also don't get
  • lane change assist
  • traffic jam assist
  • auto speed limit cruise control

Woww I guess BMW is over cautious and protecting their slogan "The Ultimate Driving Machine". They don't want any mishaps...

Even in here at US, these features you listed are very limited use. They are placing lots of limitations and system requirements.

It just frustrates me to learn about all these cool features on this forum and on Youtube to only find they aren't enabled on my car. All the necessary hardware are installed as part of the Australian build, but they aren't enabled.

I hope whatever is preventing them like regulations or legal stuff is resolved and you and the rest get an OTA update activating the features.

I am not sure if it was operating in this fashion before but on the most current update I can remote start the vehicle by pressing the lock button twice.

That's is correct you could start by pressing lock button twice or via the MBW Connected Apps. using Climatize now option or if you have the remote control FOB with display, you can press Climatize start engin option. So there ware many ways you could start.
