Rear Headrest Removal / Replacement
When we took delivery of the X7, the second row passenger side headrest (captains chairs if that makes a difference) was damaged. The dealership has sent me a replacement (i bought the car out of the city). I tried to remove the old and put the new which i figured would take 2 minutes, but gave up after 30 minutes of trying. I popped the tab off and removed the clip, but it will not come up. The dealership wants me to bring it in and get a loaner to fix that. I don't mind doing that, but i was just trying to avoid the headache if possible. Does any one have any guides on how to remove it?
Thanks in advance. |

Here you go....
https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/g...ity/1VndxRjzyX Seems to be a bit more involved than removing the head rest on the bench seats. Looks like you need to remove the rear seat panel. It does not seem that hard if you are comfortable with your DIY skills. However, I say take it to the dealer unless it is really inconvenient and you want it done now....

Anything with electronic adjustable headrest is a bit more work than manual - push clip, pull out then slide in... wow I made that sound dirty, LOL.
If you have an ivory panel - definitely take it to the dealer. Last thing you need to do is scuff up the back rest panel or create creaks.
