Damn! Now that is the leather that should be included in the msrp for the ALPINA. I especially like the leather covered second row cupholders. I may do that but in Alcantara to match my headliner.

The Lavalina leather option adds another $12K to $15K to the build in Europe. Expensive but beautifully done and very exclusive.

I don't see the value in paying that much for upgraded leather. It's like paying $2500 for some leather couches or $15k for the same couches with different leather.
In the end your just putting your butt in them, farting in them, and kids are stepping all over them.

I have to say it's beautiful. That white and blue is off the charts. The whole car looks great honestly except those wheels. My god I think they are hideous. I like the spoke design they use on the 23's. I'm not sure what size these are but that design doesn't work for me at all. Other than that it's really gorgeous.

I like the seat and headrest backs along the covered cupholders, but not a fan of the stitching on the seats themselves. I much prefer my Ivory/Midnight seats over this, it almost looks like a mediocre custom upholstery job.

That’s too much $. I would expect that leather option to be included with a msrp $158k price point for the ALPINA XB7. This is where the ALPINA has to show its up charge over a loaded out X7M50i and not including Lavalina leather is where the ALPINA becomes a tough sell to me and I am the demographic that buys fully loaded vehicles. The ALPINA ground effects and wheels are all very marginal at best so the interior HAS to show where your money is going. I see the ALPINA XB7 option makes sense providing it comes standard with the Lavalina leather interior.

The fly in the ointment is the Merino leather is a top premium leather option on its own so $15k up charge is extremely high considering its not like you are jumping from a mid grade leather like Vernasca leather.

That should be the standard interior on the Alpina, especially at the $142k starting price. Is the Lavalina that much nicer than the merino, or nappa that is in the B7? More finicky to care for? Trying to understand why it is unavailable in the US.

Agreed. Lavalina should be included in the Alpina price over a standard X7 M50i.

I love it, but in my opinion it is way too much pay 15k plus for leather upgrade. And I agree, for 155k car, it is supposed to be included, or be option for couple G.

That's a nice interior! The US guys are getting hustled for sure. This to me really distinguishes the XB7 from the M50i. I spend more time inside the car than outside so this upgrade would make sense and should be included in the higher price of the XB7 to make the buyer at least feel they didn't just buy an overpriced M50i when sitting inside. You outside US guys are lucky

I do wonder if us non-Alpina mortals can order that upgraded floor cupholder console cover for captain's chairs. Even though it says XB7, it would look a lot better than the standard plastic.

Alpina's Lavalina leather is more than a different seat covering. It's a custom leather shop that can custom design the seats in almost any way a customer wants.

Any upholstery shop can cover that in any material you want for a very nominal fee.
I think I am going to do mine in alcantara to match my headliner. I honestly think I could do it myself if I could pull the cupholder out. I wouldn’t be surprised if an aftermarket company eventually makes a cover that snaps over top of it like a skin.

That was my thought. I'd be interested in seeing this done.

I just found an old thread where someone was going to have this done. Crimsonboz

Someone else posted this pic of a Vilnear interior.

I would want it in a black leather, perhaps something matching the Merino seats in appearance. Really, anything in black looking better than the plastic. I think alcantara might not wear very well on the floor

In my situation it doesn’t get kicked and I also don’t want to draw attention to it as I have Tartufo merino. The charcoal color Alcantara would match my headliner and you can Scotch-Brite it so any dirt/fluids will easily come off of it. Alcantara is actually pretty tough material and dark charcoal won’t show any dirt between cleanings and should blend into the carpet color. You can tell I thought about this the last few months.

Here is my headliner color.

One reason I selected the bench seat for my XB7 is I don't care for the location of the cup holders with the captain's chairs on the floor. MB got it right with their design by extending the center console into the second row and placing the cup holders at a proper level.

I'm sure the material quality is fantastic but I find the quilted seats look much better and more expensive.
