I was pretty much thinking the same thing and was really happy with my M50i but a bmw store in Houston had a XB7 exactly as I would have ordered it so I had to go check it out. After driving it, if there were zero interior or exterior differences I still would have bought it. Not having to turn of the start/stop BS every time you start the car was a Huge plus. Then the feel of the ride difference alone which is immediately noticeable. Transmission feels like night and day difference. The exhaust is quieter than the M50i but has a much smother sound. And I hadn’t even felt the power and was already sold. It feels like going from the 40i to a M50i. I know it’s only supposed to be @80 hp more but don’t go by those numbers. But you must be warned, if you like your M50i you better not get in a XB7!

I wouldn't worry what anyone else thinks. You're the proud owner of an XB7. The extra $32k to get from a loaded M50i to an XB7 is nothing to sneeze at but for those who want an XB7, good for them.
