Congrats ...Looks better then I thought it would in those pics.
Personally I feel the less people notice my car the better. More attention means a higher probably it could be damaged. Last edited by BMWBear; 12-20-2020 at 03:50 PM.. |

That was at the beginning of November. Doesn't look like he went though with the buy. If he did there would be 4 threads about it so far.

DHP... how can I confirm I have it?
Hi all... I just got my X7 Dark Shadow Edition. During the ordering process, I requested DHP and the saver spare. I see both listed on the invoice, the build sheet, and on window sticker that came with the car. The space saver was indeed in the trunk, but how can I confirm that I have DHP? There's been some chatter in the other Dark Shadow Edition thread about being able to (or not able to) add additional options. I'm wondering if there's a way to check / confirm in the car or through some visual inspection that I do have DHP. Thanks.

If you're still unsure, if you put it in reverse, your passenger side rear view mirror will point down where you can see the rear wheels, now start driving and turn - you will see the rear wheels steer. |

Unreturned emails and calls, incorrect texts. Stonewalling delays. Was like pulling teeth. They didn't finalize the configuration list until the vehicle had already entered production, then couldn't sort out the MSRP until after the vehicle had already shipped. Raised the MSRP of the car twice, on the same configuration. In the end, they demanded $1,000 over MSRP and destination handling, plus additional fees. I made two offers. They made no counteroffers, and instead said they were flat out canceling my order, keeping the vehicle, and refunding my $1,000 deposit. (which at this point, I STILL haven't received) Clearly, they wanted to take my limited edition vehicle for their own purposes, and/or had their own buyer in mind, who didn't get one of the preorders. Unprofessional from start to finish, and just not right. So... I ordered a fully loaded M50i from another dealer, with 10% discount. Virtually identically configured to my Dark Shadow model, and comparing apples to apples, all-in, over $20,900 less than what BMW of Anchorage was demanding. Just missing the matte paint and 2-tone seats. So yeah... I'm fine. I'm not paying BMW of Anchorage $21k more for the same car, because they think they can get away with it. It's not an XB7, and even if it was, there's no reason to demand above MSRP and not budge. Last edited by Wild Blue; 01-21-2021 at 04:58 AM.. |

That sucks. Looks like you got into a bidding war behind the scenes. They probably offered the X7 to other buyers and then used leverage saying other buyers were in line waiting for it to solicit offers.
I was offered one when ordering my M50i. Passed on it given the demand for MSRP and dealer stating it would become a high demand vehicle by enthusiast and depreciate less. Congrats on the M50i when it gets there. |

Yeah. As unprofessional as BMW of Anchorage was, I'll be just fine with my same M50i and $21,000 in my pocket. I think it's clear they had no intention of selling my order to me unless I paid way above market price as they demanded, and had another buyer in mind, given that they didn't even attempt to reach a sale. Just outright canceled my order and kept the car to sell to someone else, after wasting 4 months of my time pulling teeth, my effort in securing the preorder, and still sitting on my deposit money.
I ordered a Mineral White M50i, black leather, ash grain matte wood trim with bronze effect. I'll do a thread about it, as there's lots of additional stuff to discuss! |

When I pre-ordered the m50i before it was available I was able to literally sit there with the manager and choose the options for the build and negotiate the final price. Not sure why they didn't just do it like any other purchase unless there were some miscommunication going on.
