Backing out of my Alpina XB7 order

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I decided to back out of my XB7 order. I want to keep my options open for now. I called my SA and he said he cannot cancel the order even though it isn't scheduled to be built until week 25 (mid-June). Regardless, he said no worries as they will sell it to someone else. I think they like the idea of having a XB7 in their showroom.

If you're considering an Alpina XB7 and would be interested in my build, PM me and I'll provide the name of the SA and the dealership. He's great to work with and he will deal. There may be time yet to make some changes to the build.

Good question. I normally buy a new car every 2-years and I know I'd be taking a beating to get out of the XB7 in 2-years. It's more of a longer term purchase. And our X7 has been solid, reliable, still looks brand new, and my wife loves it. She would prefer our next vehicle be an EV so we'll keep the X7 until something comes to market that checks all the boxes. The upcoming Mercedes EQS looks promising and they're planning on a full size, 3-row SUV version (think GLS EV) built on the same platform in a year or two. So it feels right to pass on the XB7 and stay put for now. I'm just hoping they find a new buyer for the XB7 before it comes in because I might fold like a cheap suit when I see it.

Watch this video if interested in this XB7. It's the exact same exterior:

They should lose their dealer license for mounting that front plate.

Thank goodness they aren't required in Pennsylvania. I personally don't understand why they're required in any state.

Ontario, Canada (Toronto) - mandated front plate. We all hate it.

I assumed that's why the dealership already installed it. Thanks.

Mandatory here too. The dealer should let the owner decide before mounting. It’s been more than 15yrs since I had one on my car and never had a ticket.
No way Id purchase with a front plate no matter how good the deal.

Dealers I work with do a lot of dealer trading between NY and PA. I tell them right off I wont accept any NY trades if they are looking for a car for me with front plate mounts. Now NY dealers on the border are starting to not pre drill for the front. There is a company that makes factory painted plugs (Bumper Plugs) but you can still see them.
