I plan to keep our X7 for longer time so yes I have purchased the ultimate Care + but I don't remember how much I paid for it.

Call your dealer service advisor and ask them. I recall, what they sell has less coverage and is more expensive than buying at delivery.

My POC at a dealer, not the one I bought from, says I can purchase anytime before the original warranty expires, but price goes up at the 20K mile point.

I’ve got 6,000 miles on now and will probably make a decision at the 10,000 mile point. Will definitely get the ultimate care plus, but I’m on the fence about platinum warranty. This stuff is pretty pricey.

I'd imagine you're less likely to get a discount on it after delivery since they know you want or need it. Like most warranties/insurances, you'll have issues if you're trying to add it after the fact because you need something it covers.

I've received the same information, and am having the same thoughts that you are. To make sure you're aware, Steve Thomas BMW here on Bimmerpost gives warranty discounts to forum members.

Given that I intend to own the car 10+ years, I'm considering the BMW 84 month extended warranty, and 84 month extended service plan. But yes... those are so dang expensive.
