Hey neighbor! We drive by your house all the time. We're up fishhook a few miles but I see that ZHP and your new addition pretty regularly. We've got a Glacier Silver F15 and Melbourne Red F31 if you see me creepin' haha

Thanks for showcasing our beautiful state! I haven't read your other thread but I am now.

I've always wanted to drive to Deadhorse with the X5 and fam, but i doubt my wife would want to. It would be a fun trip though!

Fantastic write up. I really appreciated all of your pics. Normally when you hear about Alaska it is all about the winter time so nice to see the lushness of summer on display here.

This is awesome. I want to explore Alaska at some point in time and your journey provides what it could be like. I really appreciate your post.

Oh hey, man! You actually read my mind. I've been thinking about more road trips, and one I'm considering would be up to, or past, the Arctic Circle. That would be ohhhhhhh so long, though, and really not much diverse scenery. I've driven to the circle, but not past it. Would be an exotic trip, if nothing else.

M5 guy, should my next road trip be down to your neck of the woods? Alaska and Hawaii are always right next to each other on USA maps.

I might get just a bit wet.

Looking good, cousin! Trying to identify that port there. German? Belgian?

Nice, How’s the v8 doing? Gas mileage? Also do you put it on the lowest setting when taking pictures?

The V8 is doing great. Nice and smooth. But pop her into sport mode, and/or giver her a good jab on the accelerator, and she'll growl and pull like you lit the afterburner.

I was initially concerned with previous reliabliity of the V8, but that has improved in recent years. It's still early in the life cycle for me, but so far zero problems, and I'm loving it. I'm getting about 19 MPG overall, which is good with me.

Yeah, sometimes I forget, since you have to manually do it EVERY time, but I think the X7 looks good in pictures at the lowest setting, so I try to lower it for pictures. The #1 thing on my wish list from BMW would be for an option to lower the car automatically to a selected height every time, upon shutting off the ignition.
