What is the Latest Software (As of June 2022)

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
My X7 is still on the 07/2021 software update, so about a year old, I thought there were two major updates per year (and some people on the forums are saying they have gotten the 11/2021). I tried to search for new updates via iDrive and it seems to have hung on seraching. Even after turning off the car, restarting iDrive (holding radio on/off button for 90 seconds), it still says its searching. Its been several days of this already.

Mine is in the same situation. Latest is 03/2022 while the latest OTA is 11/2021.
07/2022 should be out in a couple of weeks.

There's a service bulletin out about this issue. It is known issue where some cars are not getting OTA updates. Dealer needs to do an update in order for the car to get future OTA updates.

I've been thinking about this too. Mine is still on the 07/2021 OTA as well.

I haven't heard of anyone getting an OTA newer than that.

Anybody?

See above servoce bulletin. My 2020 X7 had same issue - same with auto nav updates - stopped. Dealer manually updated both - the software to 11.2021. So once 7.2022 is rolls out - we should see if it updates normally to 3.2022 again (updates are one behind latest version). Prior to 3.2021 - my remote updates came in fine on car.

The question seems to be, has any X7 owner difinitively received any software OTA since 07/2021? (Over the Air update, and not from the dealer or factory). I don't think we've established that any OTA is for sure available for the X7 since then.

No one would have received remote software updates if you did the TSB that had 07/2021 as the las roll out. They uploaded 11/2021 on my TSB fix for the issue of not downloading. You need to wait until they roll out 03/2022 via remote software to see if the TSB works. That will only happen when they transition to 07/2022. Should happen in the next four weeks - so will let you know if the fix works.

Maybe there are folks that did not have the download issue - so maybe someone will respond. My guess is if you have not gotten the download and did previously - you need them to force the next one to fix the software glitch.

I had already scheduled service to address my 2020 X7 not getting any more OTA updates. I've had several and the last one was 03/2021.xx.

Less than a month before my scheduled service I got the notification that 07/2021.50 was available for download. I downloaded and installed that update with no problem. However, the 07/2021-50 update introduced the dreaded driver profile issue where my wife's key fob in her purse set's the driver's profile to her profile when she opens the front passenger door.

Additionally, there's an SIB on the issue where the freaking car locks when my wife walks away from the car with her key fob in her purse while I'm sitting in the driver's seat with my key fob in my pocket. The SIB states to update iDrive to 03/2022.xx to solve the problem. My dealer did the update but it did NOT solve the problem.

I'm willing to deal with all of this ridiculousness because iDrive 7 is night and day better than iDrive 8 after seeing the reviews on iDrive 8.

Kiss those hard button keys goodbye folks. In future BMW vehicles you will have to drill through several screens just to change the seat settings.

I just picked up a 2019 50i. Noticed that the idrive is on the 07/2021.85 version. I would think it should have a least the March 2022 update. Any advice?

There is a TSB - many of the X7s need to be manually updated as the software wont update by itself from that software version. I got the update but have not gotten the March 2022 update yet. Should be rolling out.
