The kit gives the car a more aggressive front end without being too in your face. The side skirts do cut off the welcome lights a tiny bit and do clear the jack points. I'd say an inch gets cut off, but it's not even noticeable. IMO, it's worth the install. I was hesitant on installing them too; however, I'm glad I did.

The video I posted at the start of this thread showed the rear diffuser with a retractable tow bar so I assume it works?
I’ve just put a deposit down on the full body kit however I’ve just missed out on the V1 front splitter which is out of stock now - so will have to wait 4-6 weeks before installation which I’m having done professionally.

Ya I didn't know if that towbar was oe or not as I'm assuming I'll have some sort of open space above the diffuser. Will know asap

Judging from the pictures, and the rear lip in my hands/how it mocks to my bumper, I'm pretty sure you'll need to notch it on the upper portion of the lip, which doesn't seem like it's going to look good.

Granted I was just asking general fulfillment questions when I preordered the pair, but Maxton USA's support has been reasonably responsive. Maybe send them an email.

The lip follows the body-colored portion below the black inlay that surrounds the exhaust ports.

Here's a pic of mine sitting just below my bumper (I've not had a good chance to install it yet)

It pushes up until it covers all of that white line at the bottom. The tow package bumper doesn't have those 3 nubs and the inlay + the body-colored portion are cut out in somewhat equal amounts to fit the whole panel for the tow receiver and plug

Have you installed the kit yet? My car also has the Tow hitch in the rear, very interested to see how it looks with it installed or if possible to be installed.

My Maxton kit has arrived and is ready to be installed at the garage, however the X7 broke down last week and is a the doctors at the dealership awaiting a part from Germany
Currently driving around in a loaner X5 30d which is not quite the same experience!
I'm hoping that installation will be next week and pictures will follow soon afterwards.

My wife has been thinking she wanted to switch to an X5M again, so I haven't installed. We can't find an X5M she likes though so I'm hopefully going to install it here soon.

I am hoping to get some info on if this diffuser will be able to cover the tow hitch that I don't think I will ever use or if I have to get the renegade

No good on the tow hitch. I totally didn't think about this when I ordered the kit so we are reevaluating.

And yes..we need a new plate frame

Seems like renegade is the only one that will cover it (if that is the desire) and nothing on the market will work if you want the tow hitch functional…

Did you have the front lip and side skirts, any feedback on the fitment there?

Are those maxton logos removable?

I'm wondering if a good body shop could modify the rear diffuser to make it work and look clean.

I have the whole kit but will probably just sell it and didn't install any of it. My wife may be moving away from x7 anyway it seems and back to something smaller..shame bc I love our spec..m50i, grigio telesto, cool interior, wheels, etc...

Me and my buddy do think you could alter the diffuser into 2 pieces and would probably look ok if you have the tow package and the rest if the kit.

The stickers are removable

I have the whole kit on order which is supposed to arrive in Feb. I may be interested in buying your kit if you sell it but I think shipping would be difficult and expensive.

Which version front lip did you get?
