Question about headlights on m4...
I purchased my car, and I love everything about it but at the time I didn't have LED headlights as an option... so my questions are as follows:
1) Can you retrofit the LED headlights? I understand the highbeam function wont work, but are the harnesses different? 2) I HAAATTTEEE the amber light when the headlights turn on. Is there coding that can disable that? Or a GOOD led bulb that can be placed there? I have no idea why BMW always back peddles on technology. The last 3 series had LED turn signals, but BMW insists on using old technology. |

I know that the Ambers can be coded out.
I don't understand either why they went from LEDs back to regular bulbs.

Drives me nuts every time I think about why they didn't put Led on the turn signal and rear brake light. I think they do it to make you buy the lighting package.

Hmm I have seen a lot of people ask this so I'll tell you about the LED retro.
I'm certain you can, because it's the housing of the lights that change, not the body around the lights. So yes, you can. BUT it will cost you a LOT more if you do this then getting it with the car as an option. So with most people who ask about retrofitting the LED, I would honestly say do not do it. But, you can always ask your dealership about this and see how much they charge you. I'm not sure what you mean about the Amber lights part so I'll just leave that to the other members.

Just change the headlight turn signal bulb:
LED bulb and installation instructions. You will need to code and disable the bulb check. Module -> Section -> FUNCTION_NAME -> FUNCTION_VALUE FEM_BODY -> 3061 -> FRA_V_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG -> nicht_aktiv FEM_BODY -> 3061 -> FRA_V_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG -> nicht_aktiv FEM_BODY -> 3061 -> FRA_V_L_IS_LED -> aktiv FEM_BODY -> 3061 -> FRA_V_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG -> nicht_aktiv FEM_BODY -> 3061 -> FRA_V_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG -> nicht_aktiv FEM_BODY -> 3061 -> FRA_V_R_IS_LED -> aktiv |
