I’m going to hold judgement, lx 570 is historic and the MB needs some work. IMO, you cross shop Range Rover and you either love or hate the interior of that truck.
I am with you. I dont trust long term reliability of Range Rovers (not that BMW is much better). the MB is also ancient. The LX 570 is historic as well but at least you know that it'll hold value and probably out live the apocolypse.
If this was to be a family vehicle that I'd plan to own a very long time, its hard to not at least keep the LX in the running. Even though its about as exciting as and cutting edge as a box of rocks.

I hated the predator face on the LX at first but its grown on me and I actually quite love it now. I feel like that may be the same thing that'll happen to me here with this X7.

It's really this or the GL or maybe a long wheelbase Q7 (if they make one?).
Also Lexus LX570, new Navigator, and Eskooladeee. I'm not saying I'd buy any of the above. But In fairness these be the options in the fullsize 3 row suv market.

Not really worried about it tbh. They are robust and based on my dads ownership they aren't that bad. Parts are expensive but it's a minor formality when you drive one of the greatest sports cars

I mean the Durango is fine for what it is. ITs not even remotely in this class but I mean if you're in the market for that then it's not horrible. There's just no luxury in it. I could see Jeep using it as the basis for the new Grand Wagoneer, and them balling that out to make it super luxurious for a price.

So I'm with you on the concept. I'm just not feeling the execution towards the goal.

SMH... It blows my mind that a company that got the Range Rover design down so right they havent deviated from it for almost 10 years now, got this supposed Range Rover competitor, so bad... Everything is either too big or too small on it.

Options List Leaks For Upcoming BMW X7 xDrive50i

Quote:
The long-awaited BMW X7 is just around the corner and a list of standard features and options for the upcoming X7 xDrive50i has leaked online.

BMW Blog reports that the X7 xDrive50i will probably be one of the most popular X7 variants and come fitted with a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine delivering 455 hp. The list of standard features confirms that the vehicle will utilize an eight-speed automatic transmission and the company’s xDrive all-wheel drive system.

Moving to the options, certainly most interesting is the presence of an M Sport Differential. No existing xDrive-equipped BMW models feature a limited-slip differential, except the recent M5. Consequently, it is possible that the xDrive50i will be offered with an all-wheel drive system very similar to the M5 or alternatively, in a rear-wheel drive variation.

Alongside the M Sport Differential, the options list includes things like ambient lighting, concierge services, rear-seat entertainment, massage seats for the driver and front passenger, soft close automatic doors, remote engine start, and night vision with object recognition.

BMW recently started building pre-production X7s at its Spartanburg plant and is set to use them for homologation, registration, and endurance testing in extreme conditions.

I agree. The only problem I've typically had with this Lexus is that they/Toyota seem to have been very lazy with respect to innovating on this/the Landcruisers engines. I mean come on its 2017. A V8 that makes just 383hp and just 403lb-ft? 13/18mpg? Come on it just seems lazy. Where's the innovation?

I dont think they got the RR design down right. I think they rounded it up too much. Its not ugly, but its not fantastic. Likewise they aren't winning me over with this either.

Fact is the X5 is the best looking SUV on the road and it looks like it will continue to be that way for the forseeable future.

Couldn't agree more. But I think their logic is if it ain't broke don't fix it. And it's not broke, in fact, that V8 is expected to outlive the apocalypse... its that bulletproof.
