Video: Future "ZeroG" lounger seat for X7
I find this interesting, and also promising, that BMW seems to be willing to explore designs of the X7 interior. This comes from this Youtube video I found of the seat, and an excerpt from a news article posted on the Bimmerpost front page. BMW looking to add this as an option to production models "in next few years".

It's interesting for sure. I'm not sure I would be ok with one seat looking different than all the others. They should make it look the same and function differently. Also would love that phone holder in the armrest!

Now if I could get them to put the ZeroG seat in the driver's position.
Would squish the 2nd row right side passenger. And the press releases talk about safety restraint features for it, but I'm not sure how the passenger wouldn't shoot straight out, under the seatbelt, if in a crash. |

Driver side can get it when cars are more autonomous. |

It appears the "Captain's Chair" requires one to dress as Captain Kirk to complete the futuristic visual effect.

If the future is driverless then I won't even bother looking at BMWs. I can sleep in a Toyota and save a lot of money. You take the pleasure of driving out of the equation and it makes no difference what you sleep in.
