From what I understand, not all features can be coded through Bimmercode. Specifically, I think anti-dazzle requires E-SYS, and anti-dazzle is one of the top coding things for me.

Vehicle Order (VO) coding changes the actual option code list for your car. In the case of the anti-dazzle feature, BMW added an anti-dazzle delete code to US spec cars. When that code is removed from your VO, and then the car is "reset", your car will now have anti-dazzle capability. The nice thing about this coding method is that it is permanent (unless that code is put back in your car - an OTA update does not put it back). So every time your software gets updated, the anti-dazzle feature will be retained (and even updated if the feature has any updates). This type of coding can only be done using E-Sys. FDL coding (I forget the full name) is the predominant type of coding used by most. This method changes specific parameters inside different modules in the car for different features. Unfortunately, when you get a software update, these changes will get wiped out as your car will be updated to the "stock" configuration, which is based on your Vehicle Order list that I described above. Both E-Sys and BimmerCode can do this type of coding, although BimmerCode does not have access to all of the car's modules like E-Sys does. Sounds more complicated than it actually is . Best way to verify if your anti-dazzle is not affected by the software update is to verify operation of the feature AFTER the OTA update. If it still works, you are good to go and FDL coding (by a coder or DIY with BimmerCode) will be needed to restore your other features that were lost with the OTA update. FWIW, I have not completed this mod myself on my X7 yet. I removed the anti-dazzle "delete" code from my Vehicle Order (like I described above), but the subsequent reset did not work properly because my E-Sys software was not updated for my X7 at the time - and I have been too lazy to update it as of late . So my anti-dazzle only partially works now and I have not taken a deeper look to "fix it" yet. However, the coding process I described above worked on my F80 M3, where subsequent dealer software updates did not "erase" the anti-dazzle feature. All that being said, I would still recommend to anyone to get BimmerCode as I think it is one of the best DIY coding tools for BMW owners IMHO. It is not expensive, it is a well written and supported app, and is real easy to use with your phone and multiple, readily available adapters to connect to your car. Most of the common coding features (and several uncommon ones) can be done with the app.

yeah, people keep asking on various forums if anti-dazzle can be coded via Bimmercode, and the answer keeps coming back as "no".

The download and installation went smoothly, the update sort of fixed my 3D Remote View until today, which stopped working saying to Enable Data Privacy to use Remote 3D but is on and worked for a week. I was so excited until yesterday.

Yeah, 3D Remote View seems to be down for everyone right now. Some sort of BMW server thing

I recently upgraded to the 7/2021 SW version but for some reason cannot connect BimmerCode to my car anymore? Previously everything worked. Has anyone else experienced connection issues after the SW upgrade?

I picked up car from service a few days ago and I noticed that dealer updated software to 11/2021.30. Does anybody know what is the difference compared to 7/2021 version?

I think you're the first known person to have 11/2021

Upgrading to iOS15.2 worked. I use a Ethernet connection so seems like they fixed it and I was able to establish an IP connection 👍🏼

2022 X7 M50i (early August build) OTA 07/2021.50 this weekend, from 07/2021.32 version which the car came with broke my WiFi Hotspot ability - removed the Hotspot Internet option from the car entirely, which is the same issue I had when I purchased the car.
BMW pushed a bug fix via Apps and Services that resolved the issue previously on the .32 version and it has worked well for months on BMW's new TMobile subscription plans. I've reopened the case with BMW Genius and I'll let you know what I hear in case anyone else runs into the issue. My guess is that it's 2022 specific with the change from AT&T to TMobile in the US. |

7/2021 Update not received?
Anyone else not get the 7/2021 update? I have been getting the updates prior on the app - but still on the March 2021 update and app says no update available. Given November is out - thought I would have gotten July 2021 by now... Other issue - I am still on the 2020 map update - and nothing new since. Anyone get a more up to date map one as well?
