Very beautiful, I love black cars but I don't like taking care of them. I would definitely invest in a ceramic coat to keep it looking that way. Congratulations and enjoy, that interior lighting is something else!

Was pleasantly surprised that when I had Apple Car Play running, the Apple Maps was able to be displayed in the center console. Looks like a new feature of iDrive 8 as I never saw this on iDrive 7.

Also, tested out the Active Driving Assistant Pro on local roads and it worked pretty good and the car was able to steer and stay in lane pretty flawlessly.
Tested the Active Cruise Control as well on the highway with the max speed set to 85 mph, and again the car handled itself very well, maintained the distance accordingly and braked when necessary when another car came into the lane. Overall pretty happy with both systems!

The combo looks awesome in person and I've already gotten several compliments on the interior.

may not apply to you since you seem to use apple maps, but according to another thread, having the map show up only works with apple maps. Anyone using google maps is SOL (for now)

I believe the way it works is, if you are using Apple Car Play, it will only display Apple Maps (no Google Maps or Waze).
If you are using Android Auto, then it will display Google Maps.

That's a bummer, use an iPhone but always google maps.

I have a very similar build on order - Sapphire Black, M Sport Pkg, Black Wheels, and Black Leather.

Only thing non-black are the running boards, and wondering if that will take away from the blacked-out look much. How do you feel a few months into ownership? Does the chrome on the running boards affect the aesthetics for you?

I was torn between getting/not getting them. Two kids - 7 and 4, so went with the boards.

you can always get electric running boards that tuck under when not in use

I already ordered the running boards, but was then wondering if it was a wise decision and whether I would regret the slight chrome in an otherwise blacked-out look.
