Hi guys I just put a deposit on a...
2006 BMW 330i Sparkling Graphite Black Dakota Leather Aluminum Trim Premium Auto Heated Seats Sat Prep I was looking through the accessory catalog and I saw the 3m protective coating. I was just wondering if anyone knew any cheaper ways to get it besides the dealer. If you know of any respectable shops in NYC area please enlighten me. Look forward to frequenting this forum alot. |

e90fanatic, where is your shop and how much is the quote? Since I see you are also in the NY area would you happen to know any good tinting shops. The dealer was gonna charge me 485 for tint. What a rip off.

zero619, I am located in upstate New York, I got quoted $900 for entire front, door edges, mirrors, and rear bumper 3M clear film coverage (That was for my current car Volvo S60 T5) but for E90 it may be cheaper or more expensive. I will get it from them anyways because they are able to fully cover the entire front end instead of those pre-cut kits. It's located in Rochester, NY. http://www.xpel.com/....As far as window tinting, I tinted my current car in Syracuse, NY at Installations Unlimited where they have lifetime warranty on the tint (free repairs if any bubbles or scratches). It's usually from 150 to 300 (MAX) for entire car.

This clear film protection thing is a great idea for those who do a lot of highway driving. It'll save you $ in the long run from having to repaint. There's also another thread on this stuff in the detailing forum:
