How to turn off the active sound?

Does anyone know how to turn it off?

Low RPM: Only speaker sound because it's 6 cylinder.
High RPM: Due to tire and wind noise, only speaker sound.

To be honest, the speaker sound is loud enough, but I just don't wanna hear it all the time, especially when I want a comfortable ride.

Maybe check under the trunk liner for something like this, and unplug it

That looks too complicated for me, but I believe it will eventually be configurable through iDrive

Providing this is the same set as the F8Xs, it is as simple as it gets....

Either code ASD off or use hardware bypass plug:

Note: unplugging the ASD module only works if your sound system is Top HiFi (HK or B&O).

Otherwise there will be no iDrive sound at all.

This is an option that can be coded off ... PM if you need help doing this (I do not charge for help)

Presumably works like the ///M5 & ///M6 ... however we'll see once I get my hand on the first F80/F82

Disable Active Sound Design:
ASD → 3000 → Funktionen → Baureihe → set to: F021

Has anyone actually coded ASD off? I would love to see/hear a before and after. I remember reading somewhere that ASD accounts for about 2% of the sound, I wonder how true that is

Nice! Now we can hopefully get all these tools arguing about active sound to shut up once and for all.

I am also very much interested in disabling the Active Sound. Can somebody comment on pre/post impressions via coding? The exhaust sound coming through the speakers is way too loud for my taste. Thanks.

P.S. It is not a matter of being a tool, it is a personal preference.

I can hear it in some of the videos - it's a distinctly electronic / synthetic sound. I don't notice it when someone is tooling around but when they get higher in rev range all of sudden you hear this weird synthesizer sort of sound that sounds vaguely like you're hearing the engine over a digital phone connection. Various reviewers have commented on it too, especially the Brits for some reason.

Also, if you listen to Nick Murray's video there's a weird "DOoooooop" sound that happens twice when he stops that's also electronic sounding ... no idea what it is.

I will definitely be coding that shit away at first opportunity - I'm sure I'll manage to figure out when to shift without it.

Oh, it turns out there's actually a gauge for that!
