19" CSL Alloy Wheels on E92 M Sport

Hey guys,

I'm currently after some advice in regards to putting genuine CSL wheels onto a E92 2.0 M Sport.

The spec for the new wheels is '19/9.5J ET27 for the rear and 19/8.5J ET44 for the front'.

Does anybody know if these wheels will rub on the arch when fitted??

Also will I need to lower the car after fitting the wheels or does the factory fitted M Sport suspension cover this factor?? I only mention this is I have seen un-lowered E92 SE's with 19" wheels on and they look like they need lowering springs fitted (in my opinion).

Also any other info on this topic would be much appreciated, such as best offset's to run with etc

Thanks guys!!

Those should work fine with 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 tyres, but front is sunken in. I recommend using 10-12mm spacer at front. As for the rear there is small change of occasionally rubbing, if you go like really low, but rolling the rear fenders would fix that.

For example compared this car your front is 12mm more sunken in and rear is 5mm more out. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=134

You don't need to lower it if you don't want, but sure it would look better with lowered suspensions. The rear isn't that bad, but front will look little bit high without lowering.

And the offset/width question is totally personal preference.

Brilliant, thanks for that reply mate, really helpful

Just to clarify with the tyres, how come you are suggesting a 30 profile on the rear rather than 35 like the front?

Also, on a 9.5J wheel at the rear with that offset, do you think it would be safer to run a 255 wide tyre, inplace of a 265 to combat any possibility of catching the arches should I lower it in future.

Thanks for your help

Because it's the correct aspect ratio to that width for E9X series. Wider tyres need to be lower aspect ratio to match the front diameter, if you use 265/35/19 at rear diameter difference is going to be over 3% or 0.8 inches.

Narrower tyre would help minimize possible rubbing, but also tyre brands are different even if the size is same. If you go with 255/30/19 rear then i recommend changing the front to 225/35/19 once again because it matches the rear better.

The guy in the link previous post was occasionally rubbing, but he also is quite low and using Michelin tyres that are known to run wide to it size.

Same car more pics.

Fender roll to rear isn't big deal to prevent it for rubbing. It wont be visible to outside.

I would space out the front a bit to match the rear. You may need to do a bit of a fender roll out back to avoid rubbing. As far as tires go, usually people would go with 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 tires.

19x8.5et44 definitely needs a spacer up front as that probably will hit the strut or be only millimeters away. Id recommend a 15mm spacer or possibly even a 20
