Avenge Garde M359 arriving today. Help me decide on tire!?

My new AG M359's are arriving today and I need to figure out some shoes to put on them.

18" 8.5 & 9.5

Been running 235/40/18 and 265/35/18 on my current wheels. I am afraid it has torn up my cent differential.....working on diagnosing that now. Praying it is a wheel bearing.

225/40/18 and 245/18 is stock stagger on XI...should I stick with those? Will they work on 8.5 and 9.5 wide wheels?

Appreciate the help and feedback. Thanks!!!

Try the calculator right above your post!! ^

I have always read that as an XI you dont want more than 1% difference in stock vs what you are running.. what you were running was 1.24% differential in the front and -1.6 in the rear. Having it too far off might hurty your differential like you are experiencing.

But honestly, playing with the calculator your current sizes are the closest to stock I can get the calculator to show. Not a very good answer i know, maybe someone can shed some light on the topic.

The stock 225 might fit the 8.5 wheel a little stretched, but I do not think the 245 will fit on the 9.5 rears unless you realllly like the stretched tire look. I would say the 235/265 widths work best with the 8.5, 9.5 size wheels.

It doesn't matter what you where running before or what are the stock tyres. Your difference calculations are wrong. You are suppose to compare your new front and rear tyres to each other not what you used to have on the car.

In this case 235/40/18 and 265/35/18 which have only 0.389% difference perfectly fine for xdrive.

245 is not stock tyre size.

225/40/18 and 255/35/18 are stock size and those can easily be used at 8.5 and 9.5 it's hardly any stretch. For example http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...6&postcount=11

But as i said before 235/40/18 and 265/35/18 is fine for xdrive. Your car has some other problem. People even use setups that are closer to 1% difference without issues.

yeah you should be fine with the 235/40/18 and 265/35/18 setup as that is within the 1% difference for xi.

I mounted my DW's on the new rims yesterday. My old CSL reps are 8 & 9" width... the M359's are 8.5/9.5. Very noticeable difference in look with the wider rims and same tires. Stoked. Get my PSS rubber Tuesday. Can't wait.
