Do these plugs show evidence of leaky injectors

Specifically plugs 3 and 4. Funny thing is that I changed them due to a misfire on cylinder #2... 3 and 4 were wet and smelled like gas.

Thanks!

Looks more like oil from a leaky VCG. 3 and 4 it could be some spilt oil from an oil change. Plug 4 looks fouled all the way around though.

Yes they do. I just went through the same thing.
How I found out: left the car off for 5 hours. Started it and pulled in out of the garage. Immediately pulled the plug of suspect and it was soaked with fuel.
Also if the car has been sitting I would get a crappy initial start and a smell of fuel out of the exhaust.

This was my case.....so for what it's worth, I hope if helps.

did the car misfire after new plugs? you should next be swapping coils and if that doesn't move cylinders than its most likely injectors

leaky injector cars often have long cranks in the morning when the car has been sitting fuel leaks into the cylinder

Car doesn't seem to misfire anymore. Haven't really pushed her yet. I will update after my 60 mile drive on tuesday.

Those plugs looked similar to mine when I last changed them and the time before that. In both cases I had fluid on the tip of the plug that didn't smell too strongly of fuel, but since it was two consecutive times, I decided to troubleshoot. In the end it turned out to be injectors and the dealership covered them under CPO. Now I no longer have long cranks or a fuel smell, like Bme30 experienced.

I had long cranks a while back (couple years) and LPFP and HPFP were replaced. Cranks aren't bad now.

I would start with replacing your valve cover and gasket. Before you say why to the VC, hear me out.

The VC will most likely crack when you remove it, if it isn't cracked already. Also, the pcv ports in it are most likely all clogged up and not performing up to snuff any more. When I replaced mine, it broke. So, I cut it apart to see and they looked like shit.

If the plugs still look all nasty afterwards, then you know the injectors are leaking too, but you def have a leaking VC gasket and possibly cracked VC.

^^^^^ do this. it won't hurt to change the VCG as it is general maintenance anyways. I got my money on a leaky gasket, i doubt your injectors are bad
