Thumbs down Beware: N55 PROcede Tune feedback

I went with Vishnu on 3/14 for '11 335i. Big mistake! Here is a long story kinda made short. I had the box and harness installed professionally by a performance shop. Everything was installed exactly according to Vishnu's instructions. Immediately after installing the software there was an engine stall every single first time I started the car. Every time. I contacted Vishnu and went through ALL of their steps, including their recommendation to put an inline capacitor to supposedly correct the problem. It didn't work. I ended up sending the box back 3 times for them to "fix" or "update" the issue. Each time they sent it back it only got worse to where the car would not even run while hooked up.

I got fed after 2 long months will little to no customer support. When I did get a customer service rep, they had no idea what to do or was going on. At that point I requested a full refund and mailed the entire package back. After calling and asking for a refund the person stated that they were only willing to refund me half of the price since they had "tech time" involved. That's wasn't my fault and I didn't feel it was my place to pay for it. That should in my opinion be included in the price of the unit and categorized with customer service as most other products. I then sought legal advice and was informed to file an Attorney General complaint from their state. Within a week of filing the complaint I received the full amount back to me. Beware of this company. I would never recommend Vishnu to anyone.

Vishnu has a pretty strong rep around here with numerous products. Did you do anything they told you to do, or did the shop do it?

I know for a fact that any piggy-back will make a car NUTS if there's one wrong wire, etc. Which is why it's good to do it yourself, or a shop/person who has done these before.

EDIT: I now realize the N55 unit is obviously different then the N54 harness. Looks like a fairly simple install, like I said, did you try to do it yourself incase the shop missed something?

I ran a Procede on my N55 11' 335xi, I never had any issues with it, and the customer service was excellent. Shiv was always accommodating and never had any attitude.

Installation was pretty easy but, the DAMN crank sensor, I FREAKING HATED THAT SENSOR.

There had to of been something that wasn't installed correctly.

After two years of owning my 12 335is, I finally ordered the JB4 w/ CAI this past weekend.

Agreed, It HAD to of been installed incorrectly. I once forgot to connect a sensor on my N55 and the car ran for about 3 minutes then stalled.

I did not do anything myself. However, I was present watching the entire installation. We even unhooked all the plugs and harness to see if one was not connected properly and that was not the case either. The shop has never done Vishnu but several other similar harness tunes. I was disappointed in the lack of priority to help correct my problem. There were a couple phone conversations with Vishnu directly with my installer checking and rechecking any possible problems. I sent them a data log as well that recorded the engine stall and their reply was that everything was normal... I don't understand that. I thought they had a good reputation as well. I just wanted to put my issue out there just in case anyone else experienced problems and the assistance they can expect to get if they have problems.

Tune Recommendations...

I am still in the research phase for which tune to go with. I don't know which one I can expect to get quality and significant power increase. I have read good and bad things with the most common tunes for the N55 and I am not sure that I want to go with one of them. I recently saw that TMS has one on the market. Does anyone have an information on this product?

Did you not read the above comments? Get a JB4. If you want the easiest possible install, get a Cobb.

Get a JB4 as they have an in house N55 that they have tested everything one and runs great! Otherwise for easy install that you dont need to pay for get a cobb.
