Ceramic Tint or Crystalline?

What about a clear tint for the windshield?

I did this to my F10. It was able to block out about 60% of the heat coming in. I am getting that for my car.

Which one? Crystalline or ceramic?

Can't say. My last car didn't have HUD but I will find out on Monday.

I had my entire windshield tinted with a really high VLT just to cut UV and some heat transfer into the dash/cabin. I went with a real dark eyebrow tint over that.

The film doesn't affect the F30 HUD at all, at least, I can't perceive anything. Sspyrops: I just went with the film the Tint Specialists recommended on S. Lamar.

We sell Suntek, Llumar and 3M at our shop. A lot of customers are doing the crystalline lately since it blocks out a lot of heat and is perfectly clear looking through the film. When I get my m4, i'll be installing ceramic on the sides and back with 70% crystalline on the windshield. I'm very anal, so I don't like the crystalline shade/color on the S/O color. The ceramic tends to be on the charcoal/black side while the crystalline has more of a blueish look.

The closest car is crystalline 70% and the straight on car is ceramic 35%. Out side the blueish color goes away in the sun.

Hope this helps.

Thank you!! Finally a proper answer. I found a shop that's 3M certified for ceramic now I need to find someone willing to do clear crystalline on my windshield but I want 90% not 70.

90% is a good film as well... Crystalline is harder to install and is usually double the price. We charge $250 for front shield. Not sure what the average price is.

Just got my windows done. I went with 15% all around instead if 5% this time. Front windshield I went with crystalline. Block about 60% of the heat. HUD is visible and clear

Here are a few pics of the windshield with the crystalline. The HUD is easily visible.

I had the car out in the sun for most of the day and it block out a lot of the sunlight coming in. You could get it but personally I wouldn't. Glad I got it

There is no doubt in my mind that I will be getting 20% all around, now if I could only find a place that does the crystalline on the windshield I would be golden!

could be wrong but think the crystalline only goes down to 40 percent, i looked at it when tinted my boat but it didn't go dark enough.

I think he wanna do 20 ceramic and crystalline on windshield only.
But you are correct about 40 being lowest on crystalline.

I've decided no crystalline on my windshield because I'm never parked in the sun at home or at work. Waste of money...

I think Sun Tint on Koenig Ln has what you are looking for and they are the dealer recommended place.

It sounds like many people are going ceramic around the sides and back but crystalline on the windshield, is there a reason for that? Is there something that makes crystalline better on the windshield? I was considering going Huper Ceramic 70 all around including windshield.

That's not legal. Minimum legal in Texas is 25% for front side windows. No restriction on rear side or rear windows.
